Fortunately Moran and Buffalo valley get our power off Mormon Row in the Gros Ventre so we've mostly been unaffected, wife said it's raining now, guess it's a good week to be out of town.

Well, plan B is now in place. I'll be offered the Yellowstone position when the freeze is lifted. Hopefully by then I will have an idea on whether my Idaho position still exists. Living in Yellowstone for 6 months would be pretty sweet.

New policy at Fat Boys Tires, they won't mount tires that you buy somewhere else, only the ones you buy through them. I wonder what other tire shops have this policy. Kind of sucks since I live right next to them but don't think it's prevalent with the other ones.

finding rear shocks is challenging. the foxs w/ res have been D/C'd, leaving Kings and Icons, + nonresi shocks

Huh. I've never had an issue taking either used or new tires to the shop i use in Powell. Always happy to mount them. I spend plenty of money with them though with alignments though.

Wow really? The foxes are gone? No way seriously?

shit. Bet that's been annoying. lol

Did you ask Micah at DSM?

True. But they will cool faster and fade slower. I don't see why not for the rear. Handling a lot of weight back there usually.

I wish my Kings on Igor had resi's. They faded in Moab a lot. Frank's don't...grant bigger shock too.

That's true. The foxes where a nice affordable option. Sad they are gone now.

Also. The thing I wanna talk about tonight is a 5.3l ls swap. I'm entertaining the idea more. But now the thing that is holding me back is finding a tranny and t case that isn't clunky or weak..

that is cool. Can't splurge on that stuff though.

Why, whats wrong with finding an alumium 5.3l? What advantages does the 4.8l have? Im no LS guy, obviously. But again, motor aside. The tranny and tcase are a bigger problem i think...

And considering I have no idea what my financial state will be in 5 years..thats a hard question to ask. I really want to redo Frank's rear suspension. T100 axle, custom ADS 14'' shocks outboard the frame, box the frame..overhaul the ass basically. Still need to gusset up the front a lot too.

Igor..in 5 years? Probably won't change much honestly once i get the front end prettied up. Id love bumper and all that yada yada..but its not realistic at all to have two rigs like that. I like where Igor is right now. I'd like to tweak the rear suspension, mainly the bumper and valving, to get it to ride a bit nicer. Even rough around town. The end goal is Igor becomes the built Expo truck. Frank more race truck. I have a mod list for Igor in mind when that day comes..doubt it'll be in 5 years though. Who knows though.

Lsx 5.3l. One of the best, and most versatile engines. It's the new 350

So gm is weird. Lsx can describe a number of engines, but I always considered it the 5.3. Technically speaking, ls1 is the 6.0. But Lsx can describe any of of the v8 truck engines. 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0. 5.3 IMHO is the ticket. But that's probably because I've owned a few, and was pleased with them. Just look for the older ones, like 06 and older. You don't want to deal with that v4 shit
Edit: or if you get a newer engine, do yourself a favor and get efi live, and turn that shit off.
