so I have been running bilstein 5100s with stock springs for a ehile. i have an AAL in the back which resulted in about a 2" lift, so even at full lift from the 5100s theres still a significant rake. I want to get rid of the rake, so I bought some OME springs that have a 2" lift, and I figure I can use the settings on the 5100s to get another inch. But I have no idea how the settings will change the ride on the OME springs... Anybody have this same setup? Any clues what I can expect on the 1st groove (normally about 1" lift)?

It's generally not recommended to set 5100s on anything but "0" with OME springs. That said, I believe you can get away with setting them at .85, but absolutely no higher.

    I have 884s with 5100s set on 0.

    1st is .85
    2nd is 1.75
    3rd is 2.5

Don't go 2.5, it'll ride rough. I have Dakars (with a leaf removed) in the rear and front bilsteins at 1.75 with stock coils, til next month when I swap out for 885s. I had my fronts at 1.75 with an AAL in the rear before. Rode fine.

When you say full lift with the bilsteins, you're not riding at 2.5, are you? I can't imagine you having that much rake with just an AAL. Is your bed always empty? I was nearly level at 1.75 with AAL.

Awesome, thanks for this info. Do you know why its not recommended to go higher? Is it because of the angle of the CVs? Or some other reason? It seems to me like it shouldn't matter. I just want to know for info... I don't think Ill want to go higher than 0.85"

Yea at 2.5". It makes sense if you think about it.... Normally you need 1" to get even... But my AAL added 2-3" so now I need 3-4" to get even... So I am shooting for 3ish

3" requires new UCAs. Your cost is about to go way up.

What kind of AAL did you buy?

You will end up with so much preload it will overwhelm the shock's capacity for rebound dampening.

Just thought I would update. I put the new springs on and the bilstein preload at 0.85... Looks like with this setup its about 1" lift from the preload. Sitting nice and level now. They are a bit stiffer than my stock suspension at 2.5" preload but I dont think its that big a difference. Drives great on the road, havent gone offroad yet but Ill give an update when I do.
