    I need serious help.

My 2007 4 Banger has ran terrific until 2 weekends ago...I installed the K+N Air Intake just to boost my HP alittle bit and maybe see a difference in gas mileage. When Im at Red Lights, Stop Signs or just idle in Drive....my trucks RPMs go soooo low to where the truck putters and sounds like its going to stall out...sometimes actually stalling out. Its pissing me off!!! I brought it to a mechanic and he told me everything was installed correctly...he didnt know what the problem was....Pleaseee somebody out there help a brotha out!!

    Thanks in advance

    Did you reset the Brain??

unplug you neg batter terminal for about 30 mins then reinstall and drive normal... see if that will fix it...

It should do it over time but this might speed the process up.

    worth a shot.

When I put the K&N on my Corolla the filter came over-oiled. Got on the MAF sensor, idled like poo. A couple careful shots of MAF cleaner fixed it right up. Did have to reset the ECU after cleaning.

Well, I'm assuming it was over-oiled. Maybe it had just pooled inside the filter from sitting on the shelf at the store for a while and the pool got sucked up when I first started it. In any case, cleaning the MAF fixed it.

    x2 on cleaning the MAF.
I had a cold air kit on my old mustang and 1 of the vacum lines slid off the piece on the intake tube and it caused it to run like crap.
If the problem continues install your factory parts and see if it runs like its supposed to.

Definitely try cleaning the MAF. This is, unfortunately, part of owning an oiled filter. I ran them for many years and I've run into this situation many times. IMO, oiled filters are dinosaurs being used on new tech.

What octane gas are you using? I had the inline 4 in my 95 Tacoma. If I ran regular gas in it and had the A/C on it would almost stall at stop lights. I started using plus gas and everything was fine. Try running higher octane gas and see if this helps.

Run some MAF cleaner through it. A little oil on the MAF may not be visible but will impact performance.

Just installing a CAI should not cause these problems.

Clean the MAF and replace the K&N filter with an AEM if you want to keep the CAI. I know a few people have done a K&N/AEM hybrid intake to get the CAI from K&N and an oil-free filter from AEM. So you get a CAI and don't get the MAF problems from an oiled filter.

Or just do an AFE Pro Dry drop-in like many of us. :D
