Why would they cover it under warranty? Toyota didn't build the truck with a lift

Nice, I'm out in that neck of the woods fairly often. Hope it goes well :fingerscrossed:

The lift only exacerbates an already weak part. There was a TSB for this with the second gen. Besides, I have nothing to loose by trying.

I'm installing this same kit next week. Hope all is good, and I don't need to replace the needle bearing.

Shop talked with ReadyLift and was told the only issue they are aware of is with the Crawl feature, so the Off Road and/or the TRD Pro models.

I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Tried to go the route of the dealership, Fail. According to them, three techs test drove it and apparently could not replicate the vibration after keeping the truck all day. They said that I should come back when it's dry outside as it may be hard to hear the noise due to rain. It has rained here pretty well every day for the last two months and likely will for another two. I was about to ask them to jump in the truck with me and go for a drive. At this point the service writer advised me that due to the 3" lift, if there is an issue, they "may" not cover the cost of the repair. He also said they have never heard of the ECGS bushing and would certainly not install it as that would void the warranty on the diff altogether. They could have told me that when I first got there instead of wasting my whole day. I made a bit of a scene in the lobby. Long story short, I will not be servicing my truck with them ever again, eagerly waiting for my satisfaction survey to come in. I've got the bushing and will be putting it in on my own coin. If you're on the West Coast and have a lift or any other mods for that matter, stay away from Open Road Toyota in Port Moody.

Sorry to hear that man. At least the ECGS bushing is a guaranteed fix and not too horrible

May be a stupid question, but it says that this bushing replaces the drivers side needle bearing. Is that always the one to replace or are they exactly the same?

From what I've read, it's always the drivers side one. I'm guessing it has to do with the taco lean? :notsure:

You will need new shocks for the rear. Get some Bilstein 5100's. They will support the lift.

Toyota installing won't change the chance you may or may not have driveline vibes.

I have a friend that is looking to get this kit for her 2012 Tacoma rwd. The kit she if looking to buy does not come with sway bar drop brackets....are they required for that year? Or will she be okay without them?
