    It was tongue in cheek.

Name brand parts don't negate potential issues.

Yes. As far as 2006 models go. I did not require new u-bolts. I'd just ask the 3rd Gen guys to be sure.

    Ah.

For what it's worth, while I'm chasing down my own issues, my installer/tech called another local suspension shop and found that they recently installed identical parts on an identical truck (even did exactly the same ICON AAL -> All Pro Expo upgrade), and that truck had no vibration issues. Same parts, same trucks.

    My ever-shitty luck.

U-Bolts are generally one-time use items. Some shops will install and torque u-bolts, and chuck them in the garbage if they have to be removed 5 mins later. Personally, I wouldn't worry about using the same pair if it was installed very recently (like.. days ago) and not over-torqued, but anything longer than that, get a new set.

I had the vibration (slight) after 5100s 885s and AALs... Installed Carrier Bearing shims, vibration went away...

OP yes going to taller tires gets you higher up as well, I'd go the 2" lift and another 1" with taller tires and there's your 3" lift without the worry ... what I did..

Just a thought about drive line angles. I have a DCLB. Do you think the longer wheelbase would decrease the chances of picking up a vib. It seems I read somewhere that a LB would will have a slightly lower lift than a SB even when using the identical parts. Hopefully this question stays inline with some of the OP original question.

I don't believe bed length effects lift height using a given known value, outside of any additional weight the long bed might have over a short bed counter part, which I can't imagine is all that much extra weight.. couple hundred pounds.

Interesting though.. I can't confirm or deny that.

I had no complaints about the AAL. Ride seemed fine - not bouncy, not overly soft.

I think Im going with the progressive 3 leaf. I like the idea of progressive with the stock leaf pack when hauling or towing. Hoping the Dakar isn't needed.
