I just went on Toyota.com for my region and built a Manual Off Road and the only color option is Quicksand and besides the mandatory Towing Package, if you wanted P&T it also required the Tonneau Cover so that guy may be legit. I am glad I ordered mine before this happened as I did not have to take the cover.

Ok, here is my deal. I'm pretty happy, but I can take it if you think I got hosed:

    7559 - TRD SPORT ACCESS CAB 4X4 V6 M/T LB....... $ 30336 | $ 32390
    AA - SR Alloy Wheels................................................... $ 387 | $ 435
    HG - OR/Sport Prem & Tech Pkg no JBL (AC Only)......... $ 1343 | $ 1510
    EE - Entune Premium Audio.......................................... $ ----- | $ -----
    MF - Mudguards........................................................... $ 80 | $ 129
    PY - Sport Package - Included in Price.......................... $ ----- | $ -----
    TC - Tonneau Cover...................................................... $ 579 | $ 650
    TG - D-Rings................................................................ $ 35 | $ 55
    TO - Towing Package.................................................... $ 579 | $ 650
    WL - Wheel Locks......................................................... $ 50 | $ 80
    WI - Spare Tire Lock..................................................... $ 45 | $ 75
    3P - Paint Protection Film.............................................. $ 219 | $ 395
    ?? - Carpet Floor Mat & Door Sill Protectors Pkg ............ $ 138 | $ 208

So if I did my math correctly:
    $36,577 - MSRP
    $33,791 - Invoice

$33,910 - Negotiated price (not including doc, tag fees, or sales tax)

$28,000 - Trade Allowance: 2016 SR5 Auto, with 6K miles (bought in September - hated the auto trans...)

They guaranteed me a 2.49% rate, but when I went in to sign the papers the next day the finance rep said he did better and gave me a 2.24% rate. I couldn't find a better rate locally (Rhode Island), so I was pretty happy about that.

Based on the KBB, they over-allowed for the trade-in, so also considering how close to invoice they were I took the deal.

Remarkably, the whole test-drive, negotiation, and paperwork took about an hour. Easiest purchase I've ever done.

That's a great deal. You paid very close to invoice and got a great deal on your trade in. Most of the time when there is two transactions like that you get screwed on one of them that's almost certain.
Your interest rate is great as in my region the lowest they go is 3.9% for borrowers with a 720+ credit score local banks and credit unions in my state don't offer competitive interest rates either. 4.5% is the lowest my local credit union goes on a 60 month loan which is worse than what Toyota finance offers in the central Atlantic region at 3.9%.

I assume West Virginia has high default rates on vehicle repos so if you don't buy a vehicle that offers 0% APR like a Camry or RAV4 you are expected to pay around 4%.

It doesn't matter to me because I am going to pay off the loan in 3 years so the interest costs are going to be negligible anyway.

4% on new cars, WOW. Banks and credit unions that are national, offer excellent rates.

    1.49% APR 36 months $500 to $100,000
    1.99% APR 48 months $7,500 to $100,000
    2.24% APR 60 months $10,000 to $100,000

48hrs with the truck and I know it was the right deal. I can't even begin to explain how much happier I am with the MT.

Oh, I got screwed - by RI sales tax. There is no allowance on trade-in vehicles when you're buying a truck, only passenger cars. So that means I paid full sales tax in September and then again when I bough the new truck. Rhode Island may be small, but they are second to none when it comes to inventive ways to extract money from you...

Bottom-line is I love the truck and considering how long I (generally) keep vehicles, this was a good trade for me.

My fondest memories of 2 years in RI are not only the sales tax but also the excise tax sigh

Sprouty,I think you got an excellent deal.My local dealer wants to give me $27,000 for my 2015 SR5 Access Cab. Which I think is decent, but they are not discounting the 2017,at all.

Shop around, the dealer that sold me the original truck was not as motivated as the dealer where I bought the new one. Do your research to know what you can reasonably expect for the price, trade, and interest rate, then be prepared to sign if they meet your numbers.

I've been shopping around. My local dealer says they are giving me top dollar for my trade no discount on MSRP. I don't buy that. I bet they will list my truck on their for $29,000 and change. And they don't have to warranty it.It still has almost two years factory warranty left.I know I can get a better deal on a truck they already have on the lot. They have two black ones and I really don't want the black. I'm just going to wait and see for now. Or I'll take the two hour drive and hope the other dealer gives me as much for my trade on the truck discounted $1900 off MSRP.

    I know, I know!
40K for mine with all the bells and whistles you don't need.

Despite having the worst transmission ever.
I like to sit in it and dream of all the great adventures I'm going to have after the recall!

What are Canadians getting off MSRP? Dealer seems to not want to budge. My guess is it shouldn't be hard to knock 1k off.

Lots of good info on pricing. Im wondering also how long did you guys have to wait to get your truck? I got a good price quoted but I may have to wait longer than I can willingness aside. Might have to go to another dealer that says they can get it faster and hope they can match me on price. Its worth noting that the reason I have to wait is cause im looking for a TRD OR manual.

I'm asking for the same build from Louisiana

What are the making you wait?

The local dealership I am talking to gave me a wait time of 5-6 months while the other 14 dealerships I emailed gave me 8-12 weeks. The sales manager said they were lying about the time frame to get me to sign. The thing is these dealerships are all over the place with time from. This same dealership told me in July of last year it would take 6 months so it just seems like the default time period for them.

The deal they are giving me matches the other dealership in terms of price and they are only 30 miles away from each other.

The best Ive gotten is "I have no idea when it will come but i can usually see incoming inventory 6 weeks out and Ill let you know." This is from the guy whos given me my best quote so far and been a pretty straight shooter. Ive made my time frame know to the dealers Ive talked to and they seem confident in being able to do that but maybe they are just trying to get me to sign.

May be on to something helpful. Looks like you can look into whats available and how long it should take here. https://fleet.toyota.com/ftc/public... Process/Toyota Order to Delivery Process.pdf
