I recently upgraded the bulbs for my projector headlights....
I will show you before & after pictures.

The first set of pictures shows the difference between The bulbs that come with them, and then with Sylvania Silverstar Ultra Bulbs.

The second set of pictures shows High Intensity Discharge Bulbs (HIDs)

The low beam bulb is H7, the high beam is H3. I upgraded my high beam bulbs also but i don't have any pics at the moment.

    Check out the pictures below:
    BEFORE: (original bulb)

    AFTER: (SilverStar Ultra Bulbs)

The silverstars are definitely whiter/brighter! :D and just in case you guys are wondering....my Fog lights are 6000k HIDs...

    and......
Here are some pictures of the HIDs in action: (still working on more pics)

First, i cut a round (well, kinda round-ish) hole in the rubber cap, then used the grommet that came with the hids and put the two together:

    Awesome!

That's exactly what I needed to know.

I'm probably gonna buy some 8K or 10K HIDs for the low beam if I buy those headlights.

Do you think there would be major modification to the headlight to get the HIDs to work?

Or would I just have to cut the rubber backing, put the the bulb and wire through, and then close it up with some silicon?

That's exactly what you would probably have to do...
That or run the wire through the rubber backing and zip tie the rubber backing to the wires as tight as you can...

That doesn't sounds too painful. Just a little exacto headlight surgery.

05prerunner how hard is it to change the H7 bulbs? when I installed my halos it looked like I would have to move/take out the battery and the washer fluid bottle. I still have the stock bulbs in but if you say the silverstars are better then I want to switch. How did you change them?

There is just enough room to take the bulb out without having to remove the washer fluid bottle...
Remove the rubber backing, There is a little spring clip(?) that holds the bulb in place, you need to push the clip in and down. The clip swings out to the side and the bulb is loose now. Take out the bulb, unplug it from the plug, plug the new bulb in. Align the bulb, put the clip back on. Replace the rubber backing and you're done

It may sound confusing...but, it really isn't...

    I hope this helps...

Oh be careful of those little metal clips that hold the headlights in. They break off the plastic tab they are attached too pretty easily :/

I'm looking at projector beams also and am curious as to which brand and supplier ya'll think is best. Not really worried about cost, just don't want to get junk. BTW, 05PreRunner's ride looks great! Those lights are black, yes?

    Thanks...

The truck has changed a lot since then.....
Here some updated pics with the same lights...
I've tried the newest style of projector lights as well and they dont "project" the bulb as good as these ones:
I now have 4500k HIDs in the headlights...I love them...

Here are some pics of when i was running the newest style of lights:

Looks great! But.... Come on PreRunner, tell us...??

What are the lights?? Like brand name, where did you get them, etc...

I've looked at "Spyder" and they seem ok, but it's really hard to tell from a picture.
