Keep the 15 if you can. No need to get an older truck. It's a manual also and you said you liked having an auto after awning the manual before.

Don't do it. Make it a priority to pay off your truck. Set a goal and stick to it. I bought mine used so I could meet my goal of 12 month pay off. Now I get spend some on cool stuff. If your wife rig isn't going to blow up don't do it. I think you would regret it. That's my 2 cents.

IF you do sell...I'll buy the front bumper. Have a stock one for your truck exactly. But I personally would keep the 15

I think I'm just ready to own my truck. I considered paying mine off but that would put a dent in our savings. So there are a couple driving factors for this.....

    1) My wifes car (2010 Ford Escape) just rounded 125k miles on it and is starting to act up a bit. I foresee having to replace it within prob 2 years and my 2015 will not be paid off. I told myself i would never have 2 car notes so that is an issue.

2)I love modifying my truck but there is a big part of me that is hesitant because i don't own my truck. something about owning my truck would give me great pride and would make me more at ease with modifications.

3)We just had a son and we are taking a hard look at our budget and our monthly expenditures. In order to offset the cost of having a child and to maintain saving the amount that were were saving pre-child we have to make some adjustments. My truck not being our second largest bill. So my getting rid of my note we will be able to continue to save as we have been.

    4) if I'm being completely honest (and i know you guys will say this is dumb) but ..... a new project also excites me.

Bonus: i would feel better driving an older, owned truck through the woods and pin striping it.

If your savings is at a lower rate than what your loan interest is it makes more sense to get rid of the loan. With the amount of miles you drive you would be in the same boat with the older Tacoma as you are with the escape.

Start reading personal finance blogs if you aren't all ready. I personally can't stand them but my wife loves it. We will be transitioning to a one income house in the next couple months. This has been a big topic in our house for many years. Look up Mr money moustache. He is a bit of a hipster douche but most of his stuff is right on.

My wife and i have discussed paying off my truck now instead but thats still a large chunk of change that i could save if i instead purchase an older less expensive vehicle.

I think the number of miles that i put on my truck will decrease dramatically for 3 reasons. 1) we have a newborn. 2) the reason we put so much mileage on my vehicle is because it is the newer one so we take it on all the trips. 3) if/when we purchase my wife a 4runner then her vehicle will most likely become the long mileage take trips vehicle.

As far as being in the same boat as the escape.... I'm ok with fixing a tacoma. Im not ok with fixing the escape. It has depreciated soooo much since we bought it and it is a run of the mill mid size SUV. If i do this i will be committed to rolling with a hight mileage vehicle. That will include keeping up with the schedules maintenance as well as fixing stuff as i brakes which on a tacoma hopefully won't be that often lol

This is all still theoretical. Im going to go an look at the truck this weekend and see. I'm in no rush to do anything (yet) and doesn't hurt to look

At the end of day you and your wife will figure out what works for you. Take as much time as you can on this decision.
