Looks like I'm headed to Houston the week of March 7th.

What's the best place to go to the beach around there? Drive to Galveston?

    Where's some good fresh seafood/oysters???

    Thanks for any info!!!!

Did you want to drive at the beach or just Chill ? You can go to Galveston / keemah Borad walk for good sea food and oysters ... To just spend some good time at the beach you can go to surf side ... Galveston is nto the best place to be during spring break just becareful with that ....

surf side is near a city called Lake Jackson. Beaches there are less crowded and cleaner. You can actually drive there and have a good time. As far as Galveston is concerend you dont have much to do in Galveston .... Keemah is a nice place to spend and evening at .... Other than that Honestly good luck finding things to do in Houston ... not alot to do here at all...

Thanks for the info on Kemah! Looks nice! That's what I was looking for in the evenings when I get done with the work part of the trip.

The plane lands at noon on that Sunday.....I think drive down to Surf Side and spend the afternoon at the beach.

I'll be around Westchase.....is that a decent part of town? I've never been to Houston.

Honestly is I was you, I wouldn't go to Kemah. It's overpriced and the food isn't that great. I grew up just down hwy 146 from Kemah and I haven't been there in years. i go out of my way to avoid that place.

I would go over to Surfside to hangout on the beach. It's nice because you can just drive right up onto the beach.

Also, try Galveston and go to one of the Pocket Parks that are a few miles down the seawall. You have to pay to go onto the beach, but it's clean and has facilities for you, and then go into Galveston to eat some good seafood.
Also, if you want to go shopping, try out the Galleria in Houston, it's a pretty decent mall.
