I think the pension thing is an issue for a lot of states and it may be that the states may be changing over to something like the 401k's. The fed system changed a while back with TSP. It's not as good as the old system for the employees but it's a heck of a lot less burden on the taxpayer.

The Warmer weather in between really messes up the brain... I try to keep a winter mode carma untill after the 500. Then I start to think about the new fishing season.
It's been a strange winter for sure.

Morning all you happy people. Lots of winter blues I see...and cheesecake.

Here, as Chuck said, rain, rain and more rain. We are already past the normal rainfall amount for the season and still going. This next week should be bright and sunny for my backpack. Yea!

Just a reminder for you guys washing a vehicle and stepping on side bars and what not.
Be careful. Heard an older guy talking one time he was doing that and his feet slipped thru between steps and truck and broke his ankles.

I've heard of that. Some guys put Bully steps on our work trucks and can see where that would be a concern. I need to get something on my work truck, that Ram is tall and I still have yet to put the leveling kit on the front.

just what I need to do what I want
Just got a 4500 watt generator, a 5 gal gas can, and snow chains for $100 from a friend. I tried starting the gennie and no joy. I checked spark-good, pulled sediment cup off of petcock-good, pulled bowl off of carb-NO GOOD. Full of varnish. Took some time to get clean with some carb cleaner and brush. Flushed carb, set choke, 4 pulls and it fired, no oscillating, adjusted choke as it warmed up, runs smooth. :woot:Living in So. Cal I guess it is something to have "just in case" of big earthquake, societal meltdown, etc. Not a "prepper", but have a 55 gal, food grade barrel full of H2O with a filter and pump, some extra food and such. Now I need to try out those chains to become familiar with them before a snow trip.

I used well water. I use sparingly. I wipe down with fake chamois. helps with spots and wash with a wax.
I need to wax it this spring.

I have the same headlights, same problem. I have resealed several times now, only one fogs up. Had to drill a hole in the bottom to let all the water out
    Bob gets it.

Make sure to drive up and down the street a few times with the tire chains on while singing Christmas songs. Your neighbors will give you all kinds of crazy looks.

just what I need to do what I want
Was out walking during lunch yesterday and found two 7' long railroad ties for freee at a nearby business. My wife has been looking for some to complete a terrace in the backyard. So I called her and she was like "yeah, grab those puppies". So I pulled the truck around ,got some help, and loaded them up. Now I think my hernia bulge is a little bigger.:annoyed:Or maybe it was from fixing my MIL's washer on thursday. IDK if I can wait until April 10th for the repair.
