The snow is over but the roads are awful, still tons of patchy ice/slush mounds on the road. I noticed today while traveling over the uneven surface at normal speed (30-40mph) I'm getting a pretty distinct rattle (knock) coming from under the truck. I think its coming from under the right front passenger seat area but its hard to tell. It isnt a metallic clank, its a more of a thumping noise. My truck has less than 600 miles on it. Any thoughts?

Check for a loose body mount. Some 16 guys have had issues. Do a search for it here. Lots of good info.

This may be a similar issue to 2nd gen since so many components carry over. Passenger seats rattle like crazy. If I look over at mine while driving at that speed, it is shaking. There are quite a few threads on the matter. For me, though it shakes, it does not rattle.

R u sure its not the dash rattle?? If it's under the seat type sound... body mounts. Covered ... there are heavy duty aftermarket mounts available. Dealer will cover it under warranty but replace with same part that failed.

It could be the hood skewp or maybe even the badge on the doors.

Check for ice stuck on the undercarriage.

definitely not the dash. The truck is BRAND NEW, how could bushings fail already?
it could be the seat. I just went outside and shook the passenger seatback and i heard a noise

Drove in the same type of shit the past few days. Had the same issue. DEFINITELY ice or compacted slush somewhere. Also, keep an eye out for snow compacted in your wheels. That will throw shit out of balance in a hurry.

I don't know what people think they're buying. Just because it's made by Toyota doesn't mean it's a Lexus.

I had this EXACTLY sound a few days ago....luckily for me, I noticed my wife had left some firewood in the bed from our cabin trip, and it was rolling around lol. Could just be some ice or super stiff/failed bushings from the cold weather.

The failed cab mount bushings are also on other guys brand new trucks, the most common seems to be the passenger side front one.

Hope the new Smitty does not end up with having a bunch of problems with his truck too.
