Hey guys, I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma 2.7l Reg Cab. Recently when I was driving home I noticed a squealing noise when my clutch pedal is depressed. Then my clutch pedal stuck to the floor slightly and after it came up it was much sloppier and easier to depress. Finally, if I am just sitting with the clutch depressed and the truck in 1st gear, I can feel my pedal twitch almost as if the clutch is engaging just a little bit, then the revs drop slightly. I have read that this might be a throwout bearing issue, but I wanted to see what you all thought.

    EDIT

I also forgot to mention that it also doesn't like getting into gear sometimes after this started happening.

My guess is that the throwout bearing is due for replacement. The difficulty in shifting might mean the clutch disk is going, too. I would suspect the whole clutch assembly is due for replacement.

Yes, almost definitely a Throw Out (or as Toyota calls it, a Release) Bearing issue. Before diving into replacing it - and the Clutch & Pressure Plate while you're in there - I'd take a close look at the Clutch Linkage. It may have come apart instead.

If you go in do it all clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and get the flywheel surfaced.

Thank you, I also forgot to mention that I am at 156,000 miles on (to my knowledge) the original clutch.

Thank you, I will definitely look at that before I dive into a possible clutch replacement.

That is what I was thinking, no sense in going through all that work just to redo it in the near future.
