Don't need to save up. Get a beater in good mechanical shape. Thats what I did.
I purchased a '91 Civic HB that needed lot of cosmetic work, but ran well, for $700.
Fixed it up and sold it for $2000 3 years later.

Nice tent. We took Tacoma camping too, different style of camping though. More like glamping with wife.IMG_0105.jpg

Hmm never occurred to me that moisture would be an issue. Never heard it mentioned before. Are they typically reliable, as far as keeping out excessive moisture?
Also, this picture doesn't really look like your truck to me. Still badass though.

I love seeing these trucks pull big things like that. It looks funny, in a good way.

It isn't common when you keep the tarp on them. Frank's RTT lives outside literially year round unless im working on him. Never had an issue.

Where an issue can arrive is if you have to close the tent when it is wet from rain/dew/snow and then you don't get a chance to open it back up to let it dry out. Then Molding can happen.

As long as you open it up to dry within 2-3days you'll be fine.

Sounds pretty simple to avoid then. Explains why I've never heard of it before.

I'm sure part of it is just that I don't know where to go, but living in North NJ definitely gives me very few places to just go drive (that isn't simply roads) and have nothing around. A bit jelly, tbh.

This is just a paved road going up the mountain.... there's quite a few trails in the summer but right now the snows balls deep and I can't drive on them.... but I understand what you're saying

ehh still. I look around in the pictures you post, and there is rarely much going on. I live in suburbia, so I have to travel to not be surrounded by houses and strip malls and such.

I have thought about a bigger truck but the Tacoma pulls it well as trailer is only 15' with slide out and less than 3000#. Looks bigger than what it is.
Maybe quad cab later as grandkids grow.

I love the way you think. You get what you need. So many people get full-size trucks despite not needing them. But that's how it is, I suppose. The number of people I see driving huge SUVs and it's just them with nothing in the vehicle is astounding. I'm sure it's less of a problem when you get away from towns like mine, but here it's rampant. Luxury cars they will never own and/or huge vehicles that are far more than what they need.

So kudos to you for actually thinking about your purchases and getting what makes sense.

Probably just the angle. Usually the shots aren't so close, and less of a front view. Plus, I can hardly see that gorgeous green!

Still. Even if it's worse, that green is so nice. If I were able to choose which color I could get when I bought, it would have been either the "Imperial Jade Micah" or the "Radiant Red" for sure. I certainly do not dislike my "Lunar Mist", but I am sort of partial towards actual colors.

I know! I like those paint choices, but I am TIRED of seeing nearly every new vehicle be one of them. I want colors back! It's actually one of the things I look forward to most about going to classic car shows. So many beautiful paint choices.

I am more than willing to give you that attention. I like sharp looking vehicles. Too many neutral colored soap bars.

Yes it sure did, after being spoiled with temps in 50s this week. Drove home last night at like 2am on I-15, wasn't fun.

That does it, I'm moving to Texas. My brother is in Waco and sent me a pic of him in shorts and t-shirt and was largemouth bass fishing in 75 degree weather on Christmas day... Bastard.
