75F here. Just mowed the yard for the first time ever in February. Weeds were going nuts. Took the truck to the hardware store for lime. It feels like June in NC.

Yeah shit's bonkers lately. 2 weeks ago, I noticed a tree budding. Late January is way too early for that.

This is the perfect day to go on the water that's for sure. But it's gonna be a brutal summer.

Just got it back from the shop after getting rear ended for the second time in two months. Shop did some beautiful work. Here's a little before and after the damage:

Wow that's fantastic. It's amazing what body shops can do.

But hey, if it's twice now in 2 months, perhaps it's time you invest in a wrap-around tube rear, eh? :boink:

Just a heads up, in replacing my LBJs and someone posted a link a bit back for the bolts on McMaster. They were for 30mm bolts, the bolts are 32 and 35 mm. Personally I would not go with shorter bolts, the inside might be fine but outside there could be a risk of them pulling out.

I've definitely thought of doing it. The first time just got me a new bumper. Messed the other car up and only had a quarter sized dent in my bumper. Hopefully I can that bright red target off my back bumper so people stop hitting me.

Assuming you mean these ones, https://www.mcmaster.com/#95735a631/=1512f4e
While I do see your concern, and more thread is better, these seem sufficient to me. I will have to get a second look, but there seems to be something like 2 threads sticking above the hole. So even if it loosens some, it's not like it's just barely sitting at the edge of the hole. But if I had known, I would have gone with longer. Though with loctite and correct torque spec (and regular inspections), I think it should be fine.

Unless there was some other reason you would suggest the longer ones?

Yeah I just thinking because of where you were hit this time. A wrap around might have prevented a lot of the damage. If you were considering getting an aftermarket bumper at some point, you should give it some thought.

How was the fitment on your mats? I got mine today and the figment was so horrible I thought they sent the wrong ones. We have some on our 2013 Acura RDX and they fit perfect. Was hoping for the same on the Tacoma.

For the inside, they should be fine, but the outside bolts are 5mm longer, over 1/8", I don't know how much thread engagement there is but if be worried there wasn't enough.

Oh oh I see what you're saying. I'll have to take a look and see if those two look too short. If so, I'll order longer ones. I'll get a picture if I can. Thanks for the heads up.

Why did you notch the bumper and not just clock the winch end to use the access holes in the bumper?

Only clocks in 36 degree intervals, so it would put the handle in the condeser or the front wall

Yeah I thought about extending the handle so I could cut less but cutting was easy and it's mostly hidden behind front lights. Nice and easy to reach though.
