I added a island that was big enough for family to gather at. I don't think I have any regrets. Just think about the things you need and everything will fall into place.

Not sure yet might add one down the line. My cabinet guy is making a veneer for the side of that cabinet because his finisher messed the edge up on it.

Picked this up about year and a half ago and it's done me pretty good. I use it for basically same stuff you describe. And it's really not that loud. Pretty quick to refill and last a while. I got the horizontal so it would fit under my work bench.

By fridge gable , I mean a panel that goes from the top of the upper cabinet over the fridge to the floor basically housing the fridge

Yea I understood it. He said he can add the panel easily after if we decide to go that route. Holding off on it because it's more material and money and we're saving for a wedding after this house reno drained us haha.

They all look great! Thanks for sharing!

Has anyone moved the electrical outlets from mid backsplash to up closer under the cabinets? I dont like the interrupted look of the backsplash with outlets that stand out visually. Thinking of moving ours up a few inches to hide them a bit.

Just remember your gunna have to bend down a bit whenever you go to plug something in since you won't see the outlet as well.

Something to keep in mind - if the wires are entering the box from above then there shouldn't be an issue moving the box up. If the wires are coming from below then there may not be enough wire to move it up. Remember, you can't splice wire and leave it in the wall - has to be in a junction box.

If the wire is too short then go over to Harbor Frieght (or other tool supply) and ask the guy at the register for a Residential Wire Stretcher. Kinda hard to find so make sure you ask someone who works there.

Well, got the wall framed in and the pocket door frame in place. Now I just need to find a door. The top of the door slide assembly sits about 1 1/2" below the header. It's only secured to the jack studs on either end. Seems a little flimsy and moves when pushed. I'm sure it will stiffen up when covered in drywall, but I may cut some stock to fit the gap and tie it together with the header.
