I could not find any either, but this is what I was guessing.
    Thanks

Why push it on such a critical component you invest money in. Plan to service every 30k miles, you cant go wrong. This way you have 20k miles of buffer.

I know it sounds crazy but I am looking for around 1.5 inches of lift. I do not want to push extremes but stay around stock and go no more 31" tire for weight and mpg reasons.

I do a lot of travel miles >3000 with mild to moderate off-roading. Weight of the truck loaded is ~500 pounds with gear. I tend to use my hiking gear when traveling for lighter weight purposes and save the weight for fuel and other gear. Would it be best to use 600 or a 650 spring and deaver 1.5" leaf? I am open for suggestions.

the stock spring 600lbs would be fine. For the rear, you may need Dakars (and remove a leaf if it's too tall). AAL tends to sag because you reuse the stock leafs which suck. Unless the deavers you're talking about is a full leaf pack?

Yes, the deavers I saw were a leaf pack and 1.5" of lift.

If you need help/questions feel free to ask me.

700# springs would handle all that fine.

I personally wouldn't recommend spending the amount that Kings cost for your uses, but that's entirely up to you. If you got the money and want them go for it. If you go with Dakars for your leafs you need to keep constant weight in the back or it will ride ridiculously stiff. But if you go Deavers they don't do well for carrying heavy loads and will start to sag

Your idea doesn't sound crazy at all because I was in the same boat. I do mostly highway driving and mild off-roading, but the roads where I live might as well be off-roading. I tried digressive front coils but wasn't happy with the ride.

I went with standard travel kings with compression adjusters all the around. The front coils have #650lb springs, running stock UCA's, and out back I have stock leafs with sumo springs supporting the weight of my camper shell. Couldn't be happier with the setup. The compression adjusters allow me to dial in exactly how I want the truck to ride, either like a Cadillac or dial up the stiffness for off-roading or stiffened up for off roading. The sumo spring give me increased towing capacity, 1000lbs at 50% compression, keep the rear from sagging under heavy loads, and give me 3/4" inch in the rear. With the kings out of the box, my truck sits perfectly level with around 1.5" of lift up front. I didn't want uniball UCA's because I didn't want the noise or the maintence of lubricating them all the time. I didn't do a diff drop or extended brake lines, and everything is within spec.

Was it an expensive option? Yes. Totally worth it to have a truck that can handle the best of both worlds? You betcha!!

    Good luck with your decision.

P.S. Sorry for the long rant. It took me a long time and a lot of research to make my decision, which I encourage, but wanted to reinforce that you can get exactly the setup you are looking for.

    Stronghammer,

How did you go about getting the rear shocks specd for the increased lift?

Thanks for the information. The reason for the the Kings is for the upgrade ability down the road and from what I have seen/read seems to be a quality product. The leaf springs I will search for more info.

All good on the rant. Your setup seems about what I'm trying to accomplish. Not too much but just enough. Thanks for the input.

I couldnt agree more. I have had two sets of kings now due to my recent upgrade. It might sound weird, but I get so much excitement out of my truck just driving down the street because it makes street driving soooo nice! When I hit the dirt, it only gets better. To some people, daily driving alone might not be worth it to them, but because of these shocks I drive way more than I probably should! In all honesty, just having these on your truck might entice you to want to play in the dirt in time.

Absolutely. I love driving my truck so much more with the kings! I have stock comfort around town, but if I hit the rough stuff, I know it can handle it. I definitely want to play in the dirt with them, just haven't had the chance yet but will later this month. Will report back on their performance. Do you have the compression adjusters?

I decided to keep just regular resi's up front due to possibly getting bypasses in time. For the rear, I def went with clickers as my weight can change often. Some say that they don't notice as much with an SOA rear with clickers, but with my SUA just one notch is a big difference to me. Since I am LT now, I have the rear as soft as I can make it just to be close to the front end. The cool thing about kings though, when you take them off road you will be impressed what they can take in their stock form. Between me and a few buddies of mine who have kings...on the trail is when people notice the difference. You are faster and smoother than most of the others!

Just curious, why do you want kings if you're not off roading? (I'm assuming you don't off road just off your statement, please correct me if I'm wrong) Genuinely curious, not trying to be a dick or talk you out of it. But why not go for something cheaper?

Not offended at all but not sure how my statement meant I don't off-road. I off-road from time to time but not a lot and just want a better ride without sacrificing mpg's since if I jack it all the way up, I'd go for 285s. Just want a better ride with only lifting the front about an inch or so and keeping my current tire setup. I have the 5100s now with about 1" higher. The ride is kind of shitty so want to improve that aspect. Have a new baby so I don't want to feel every bump either.
