Has anyone ever replaced the holder for the ash tray in center console with a regular sized cup holder ? Or any recommendations or ideas of how to do this ??

I think he's talking about the compartment in front of the cup holders. Not sure how you'd put a cup holder in that slot though. Then again, he maybe 1st gen and accidentally placed the thread in the 2nd gen forum.

I know you can buy a ash try that fits in there but I thought all of them had that divider for drink holders. the adjustable ones or the rubber kind that is 2 cup holders

Not sure exactly what OP is talking about here. The 13 drink holders in mine have been sufficient so far. My only gripe is the little one right by the shifter won't fit my Hydro-Flask.

In my 14 console it came with an ash tray with a lid that fit in the holder between the shifter and the storage arm rest - I don't smoke so have no need for it - it is a $20 option from Toyota - but the cup holder is smaller than the two front holders and the rear holders....my 2012 came with the same thing...I was just wondering if anyone ever tried removing and replacing - I would guess since this is an molded part that the holder is probably part of the injection process and not separate - before I took it apart...

Yeah already doing that - typically doesn't fit most containers - I think I'll open up n See what I can do with it - was wanting to add a couple of small leds for nighttime driving anyway - Tks

I use that little compartment underneath the switches that adjust the mirrors as an ashtray.

Did you buy your truck used? I bought new and never had one of those just an open cup holder. It looks like one of those things from vatozone that just plugs in the hole.

I forgot that compartment was there until I was wiping down the dash the other day and it popped open.
