Hey guys. My truck's been pretty bulletproof so far so maybe I'm getting to picky, but it creaks pretty loud when I switch from defrost / floor to forward facing air vents. Check out the video below.

Is this common? Should I have the goons at the stealership throw some wrenches at it while it's still under warranty?

It also has a musty / stale water smell but only when it's blowing on the windshield. The other vents smell fine. Any thoughts?

If you have a warranty get them to replace the Mode Selector Servo. It is fairly easy to get to on the passenger side under the dash. Get someone to operate the mode selector when you look at it.

They have plastic gears and are known for breaking teeth.

My 2015 does the same thing from time to time. Took into the dealership and they "couldn't replicate the issue". Guess I'll have to wait for the problem to get worse, so I can take it in, again.

Thanks for the heads up, that does seem to be what it is.
