I truely believe 'something' will happen....but mostly in the stars. The Maya knew a hell of a lot about the stars & time keeping (based on the stars). It's interesting when you read a little bit about the Maya's.
I don't know much about them, but find it interesting. I totally believe that something will happen in the stars....not necessarily something bad.... but just a planetarial change that was like no other occurance they've ever seen and maybe they themselves didn't know what would happen or happen even after that. Gotta look at things as if you were a Maya..... What THEY thought was an end - could have been a new beginning in the heavenly bodies.

The media has blown the whole thing out of proportion. The history of the Maya is totally lost in all the bullcrap.

Interesting, I wonder if I can find some more information on this from another source. The New York Times isn't very credible, and they lie a lot.
But it sounds like it could be true, all that trash has to go somewhere. I'm going to see if I can find something else on Google.

That's what I'm talking about! They really knew something. In what we regard as a primitive culture, they were full-blown masters of astronomy.

And to think they had full unfettered access to the sky. Everywhere I go there is light pollution. You have to work really, really hard to get a good view of the night sky these days. Just think of what it must have been like for them!

Excellent! There is no substitute for doing your own research and drawing your own conclusions. Kudos to you.

All men think they live in the end times. The mayan calendar is a circle, for a reason, the cycle repeats. My 2008 calendar came to an end. What happened? January 1st 2009.

HOWEVER, the world and "society" can be confused. The world will keep spinning for googallabazzillion years, but society is frail and really just a "thin veneer" (J.W Rawles).

Let the economy continue on it's current path and when society collapses we'll think the world has ended. When I signed the papers for the Tacoma I looked at the payoff amount and wondered if there wouldn't come a day where inflation would allow me to pay off my contract with one paycheck -- but I wouldn't be able to buy bread and milk with twice as much.

    CRAZY!!!!!!!!

How much $ do you think we can get from a class action lawsuit? The Mayans will never know what hit 'em!

:sorry: I'm so sorry about that, but please feel free to tell us about it.

Hell yeah! I'm going to mount me up some dual mini guns and wheel to mars. I here it's just like our deserts. :)

Maybe we can still stop it! We need to build some ED-209's and set them on auto-politician mode!

Yeah, but that was government/corporate driven .

I hope it ends. I really do.
I know the whole 2012 thing is probably a misconception.
