Same. Wife thinks I'm crazy, sees driving as a chore to get from A to B. I ordered the 6MT because for me it's about the journey.

Nope, all but one of us missed it by a few hours...but FWIW, they are available for about $50 from a bunch of places (I just ordered one).

Easiest thing to do is go to the first post of this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-model-package-option-costs-master-list.388345/ (also in the stickies). There's a section that lists every model code available in the US along with what transmission and whether or not it's a 4x4. That post will be invaluable to you to determine not only what can be built by Toyota but also for how much.

I looked at that and it seems that the SR access cab 4 banger is available as a MT but then you have to jump to a sport or OR to get a MT. I was thinking I might be missing something.

It's possible but unlikely - that post is regularly updated by someone with a lot of access to dealer based info. It has also essentially been vetted by close to 100 pages of folks either looking to buy or actually buying 3rd gen tacos.

Toyota doesn't tend to offer as much "customization" relative to builds when compared to domestic truck brands (sorry if I'm assuming this is your first Toyota vehicle purchase). That said, not many manufacturers give manual trucks much love at all.

Manual Transmission FTW!! It's fun and... Being a highshchooler will a bunch of other highshchooler friends, it stops them from taking my precious truck for a joyride cause 95% of the people at my school don't know what a clutch is. (kinda sad)

Ha! This is awesome. Back in the mid-90's when I was in HS, more of my classmates knew how to drive a stick and joyriding in my truck happened a lot. What a great perk to owning a manual these days... "my friends can't drive it!" Agreed, though. This is sad. My kids will definitely learn how to drive a manual.

Yea my parents taught me when I was really young cause we have 3 first Gen tacos and another Toyota pickup. But it was funny cause in my agriculture class, the teacher asked one of the kids what the 3 pedals were on the tractor and he said gas, brake, and e-brake. It was even funnier when he tried to drive it the next day.

I've always been curious about what would happen if I shifted gears while in cruise control. :D But I would rather not try it on my own truck.

I would guess that pushing the clutch would cancel it?

Yup, as soon as you push the clutch in cruise turns off. I drove a 91 Silverado that didn't cancel cruise, only made that mistake once, and didn't cause any damage since I hit the brake pedal real fast.
