Transmission fluid mishap. Need help! Lol

Putting the pieces of the puzzle together it sounds like you put non-Toyota / non-compatible tranny fluid in there. I don't think the dealer will fix this under warranty unless they are kind hearted. Expect to be on the hook for the cost of a full tranny fluid exchange. Live and learn.

As long as whatever you put in there is compatible with WS fluid, you're fine.

People get hysterical about fluid types... Totally unnecessary.

The dealer will probably charge you between $200-300 to do the job right....don't ask ask me how I know!

 

So I went to a shop and the level is fine. Not too worried about the mix of fluids so I'll end up getting a complete tranny flush in two week! Thanks guys for all your help. Hope you got a laugh out it at least

Well at least it will have all new fluid soon.

 

It's the 'merican way, if one drop of oil is good 2 must be better.

 

It's not really that hard, I've actually come up prefer this way over a dipstick. After you've done it a few times it's super easy.

 

Read these threads. Easy fix. If you used the wrong fluid, get the right stuff and follow the full flush thread. Otherwise read the how-to-drain thread.

Easy to do and much cheaper than having the dealer do it and you will know it's done right.

 

Let your Toyota guy check the level's,do not do it yourself,and you will be fine no big deal.
