Pressing the clutch in will cancel the cruise control.

Does anybody know if the rod that goes from the transmission to the shift Knob is supposed to twist around in a third gen because mine is.

I'm here to ask this very same question, I got that same knob, where did you find the plug for the sleeve? You know because the sleeve actually attaches to the old knob (or is it just in the pros). Otherwise I got a big gaping hole. Do you have a picture from before?

By plug I mean the chrome circular thing where the shaft comes out.

Most people seem to be using a 3/4" grommet from Home Depot.
    http://m.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-3-4-in-Neoprene-Grommet-812048/204275920
You will have to take a sharp box cutter to the lip on the back side of the grommet to make it fit.

Any others here with a similar knob for the 3rd gen. How did you deal with the sleeve?

Mine is a 3rd Gen. The sleeve twists off the stock shift knob (be gentle), then you unscrew the knob. Slide the grommet onto the chrome ring, screw on the jam-nut, then the new shift knob and tighten.

sure does. even my 1st gen taco MT had cruise. with the 1st gen just a tap on the clutch paused cruise. I really liked that. 3rd gen so far takes a deeper push of the clutch so I pause it with the lever. cruise on the manual is nicer imo because most of the time the truck has enough guts to pull hills but with the at it thinks it needs to downshift. kind of annoying

when you depress clutch it pauses cruise. In my 1st gen taco just took a slight tap of the clutch
