So my dealer Lifts and Mods trucks and sels them as new. They have a brand lifted new TRD with 285/75/16's on it right now and remote start for sale with full warranty, so hopefully they are accepting of Mods for Warranty work.

With that said, i love the idea of the Posi-Tap connectors because if i happened to have a problem at my dealer i could just remove the remote start, no one would even know, and take it somewhere else...

Trying to keep all my mods that way. You never know.

Naw, I wouldn't trade my Southern Belle for anything. Seventeen years in and it just keeps getting better.

Remote start is pretty handy in Georgia summers for getting a start on cooling the truck down. There's a limit to how much you can strip down in public in the heat and humidity.

Nice.... my suggestion was just a suggestion.... your problem solved.

I'm in Philly, ain't no where in NA hotter than this shit in the summer time.... no breeze, no shade, 100% humidity and 100F for a month, that's freakin hot bro. Why I have a Taco... get the heck outta Dodge and head to the great white north for the duration.

Anyways... so when you get out & shut the truck down, you set it up to have the AC or the Heat or defrost on depending on season, so that when you auto start it will be set the way you want it??

What if you forget to turn on the AC/heat/Defro for later...?? Buzz kill, that's gotta suck bro, just sayin..

Insurance will also deny any claims, such as fire or electrical failures caused by the starter. Strongly advise against installing your own.

My wife worked in auto insurance and showed me a claim where a car burnt to the ground from starter overheating. He had no receipts and was denied claim.

At my dealership we will also deny electrical warranty if the install isn't professional.

I installed my own starter, but I'm a licensed tech and work in a licensed shop with paper work.

Dealer themselves may warranty their own aftermarket installed options under a conditional or exception coverage. However toyota corporate would not reimburse that dealer for those issues. If you read all of the fine print I can almost guarantee you there are differences on coverage of those parts from what your factory warranty coverage is....meaning if you took it to another dealer those mods or any issue even distantly related to those mods would not likely be covered at all.

Sounds like a different issue. Remember the PTS Tacos are remote start ready so it happens via a data connection telling the truck to start.

I agree that if yer clueless on electronics installs think twice, but I've seen enough crap installs by "professionals" that it's pretty easy to do better.

Let me help you "get it".

Most people have a remote starter installed to warm the engine, but more importantly.... warm the cabin before they get in to drive.

I have a remote starter, that certainly doesn't mean that I suffer from extreme vaginal discharge and/or grounds for my ManCard revocation.... It means I'm in it for the comfort.... Period.

Meh, I don't follow Pro football. Only saw any of the Super Bowl because I was helping out with a homeless outreach event during the game.

There's a guy who sells kits, check the for sale boards. I don't recall the name though.
