All right. Which one of you f-'ers called me from jail this morning? Seriously.

Right? I feel left out haha.

 

No kidding. There was a call from around midnight-didn't recognize the number so didn't answer. This morning, some company called GTL left VM saying the call from an "an inmate at a correctional facility failed due to billing problems". I did a little googling and guess what? It really was jail.

 

They used to call my grandma's house like that to try to trick her into putting money on their books

 

F that. GTL is into all kinds of money handling "systems" for correctional facilities. I wonder what the person who accepts a call from the inmate has to pay for that? I'm guessing it's way more than you'd pay making a collect call through AT&T or the like.

Got one a few months back but it was from a childhood friend. He decided to take a different road in life then I did. Helped him out 3 or 4 times over the years but this time I had to decline the call.

Yeah GTL is one of the big vendors for the inmate phone systems

 

They seem to be doing pretty well at "services". Gotta say it's pretty bold to call someone they have no connection with after the fact to say if you really wanna talk to this person, you need to give them money. Meanwhile, you have no clue who is calling until you give them money.

 

Poor lady came into my bank. Got this call about her "nephew". She deposited 9k into his account at wells fargo...they wouldnt do shit for her. I was so upset that my teller didnt probe. We coulda stopped that

 

Yeah luckily my grandma called my mom and we had just gotten off the phone so she knows it's a scam now
