I hate people sometimes. Had a lady flip out on me in line at Walmart one time because she accidentally bumped me with her cart and I guess moved my shirt enough to see the grip of mine. I was like, "Lady... You need to calm down. It's not going to go off just because you bumped it with a cart. If it would, I damn sure wouldn't be carrying it IN MY PANTS. And if for some reason it did, don't worry, we'll both get very rich."

Good morning everyone! Well February is almost 1/2 done already. It's been a quiet winter on here. I expected that with this being a new thread and group. I'd like to boost our interest in this thread and have us become more active as a group. I had some plans last fall that didn't materialize so I will be coming up with some alternate plans. I will attempt to keep activities as centrally located around the Fredericksburg area as possible. I will start us with a meet-n-greet in F'burg in March. It's far too complicated to try and make something work for everyone as we all have our own lives and schedules. I will pick a spot and set a date well in advance. I would like this to be more than just a meet. I would appreciate some input from everyone pertaining to just what you'd like to get out of this. You know work parties/ Mod days, meet-ups, trail rides etc. Perhaps we can even get involved in some community activities. I will be going back through this thread from the beginning and compiling a list of local members to be posted here and if I've missed anyone y'all can add them to the list. The meet will be later in March hoping for good weather but will be held rain or shine. If I'm the only one interested in this I guess it'll just be me taking my wife to dinner and nothing else mentioned. Time to shit or get off the proverbial pot people we could make this a fun thing we have here or it'll just fade away. Thanks and I hope this all works. I'm the enforcer though haha, also I know we have a while but I would be interested in setting up hunting trips if anyone else would be down.

 

I'm definitely in for meet ups, mod days, fun runs, any excuse to get out of the house and enjoy my truck. I'm only about 45 mins from F'burgh.

 

The COO here is James @Wild Crow he is the OP however this isn't anything we have not already discussed many times already. This being a new group we understand there will be a few bumps along the way but if we don't get to doing something it'll all dissolve. Our bretheren to the north have been able to develope an active group in both meets, mod days, and trail riding activities. We should be so lucky here and with a little work we will make it happen. First things first though we need a meet to determine just what everyone would be interested in and take it from there. It's kinda just like you starting out building your truck. The first question you should ask yourself is just what do you think you'd like to do with your truck, determine that, and start the planning from there. See the comparisson? We need to figure out just what we'd like to do and build from there. I only live about 400 yards from you your welcome to discuss what you think you'd like to do with truck any time. You can then research and get input from other people here as to the best way to go about achieving your goals as God knows I'm no expert and more times than not rely on the knowlege of other, more experienced members here

yep, your right, it's all been said before but now it's going to happen or it's time to shut this puppy down and move on. If all everybody wants is a thread to visit occasionally to BS that's fine. If people actually want to do stuff spring is coming and there's no more excuses. You have offered good input and I know you'd appreciate being able tp participate in some things as your time allows. Will everyone be able to participate all the time? nope. Will I be the one who has to plan everything? I certainly hope not. I am willing to get this ball rolling though. I do have several ideas that I have discussed with both you and James and all I can do is make an effort. An effort was made last year at 1 point and I don't think but 1 person showed up. All I can do is try. This thread was created because of the increase in activity of members in this area and the inconvenience of trying to paticipate in the NOVA activities. I'll try to make a run at this if it works great if not, sad, but time to roll on

 

I tried to organize a ride/offroad trip. But noone from this thread wanted to follow us.... so we went with only 3 trucks, none from this area.

 

Yes you did. There wasn't any way my truck was or is capable of that trip and may never be ha ha. I don't think anyone else in this thread has a rig that is equipped for that except you. Someday perhaps I'll be ready for that. The trips I hope to get going will be in no way at that level but hopefully we'll be able to find something interesting and at least moderately challenging. Hey, we gotta start somewhere. It may boil down to just you and me going somewhere for day trips at the least.

Yes, I know you and a couple others are. Point being we get something going or it''s done. Some, it seems have already wandered elsewhere. I truly believe if we can turn this in to something active and fun it can be really special. Tenatively I'm looking for the 3rd or 4th weekend in March. That's not far away and will be exploring some other options. Some of which we have already discussed. We're going to make this fun! damnit!
