I've moved my lawn tractor at least 12 times and zero issues. Moved 1500 pounds of crushed stone and 1000 pounds of plywood as well..and mine's a single cab 2WD. No bed mat either.

Just be careful how you load it. Don't throw stuff in..place it in.

No issues with the tailgate here but I reckon it can't hurt to reinforce it.

I guess I'll find out as I use it.... I won't be babying it but I also don't plan to go out of my way to abuse it either.
My sons 1987 Taco looks it's been rolled (it has) but it keeps on going...steel bed though.

The beds are tough as far as I've ever used it. Get a bed mat like others mentioned if you're really worried. I've done soil, mulch, LS2, etc and it's all good! If I were dumping rock in there I'd build a wood cutout for extra protection, but I don't think it'd really hurt the bed.

I have a solution... Your sons truck has been rolled and it's STILL kicking ass and taking names... Just put the bed of his truck on yours and wahlah buddy, you're good to go. No more worries.

He's no dummy...he'd no sooner let that bed go than the truck....plus right now I guess it smells really, really badly. He's been catching skunks from under his gf's porch and hauling them away in the truck..... I guess there's been some pretty foul action. I'm not any more keen on that smell than he would be on my wimpy bed.

Why are you looking for a way? Just take it to linex and get it done.

I've worked with plastics for a lot of years. Mostly Computer and Telephone Stuff. The biggest concern I have is aging. 10 + years from now will it be Brittle and crack under Impact (tossed in wood, corners of wood sliding around, etc.). Otherwise I love it.

The Line-x shop where I had my 1st gen's bed sprayed told me they wouldn't spray my 2nd gen. Something to do with the material not sticking to the composite bed. It sounds like at least one person on this thread had their truck sprayed but noted there was a lot of extra labor involved.

Weird. Just sand it yourself and bring it in. I lined my second gen myself with Bedliner from HD. That and an OEM bedmate was perfect.

Your 10 yr window has passed by a couple years.

Not seeing any 10+ owners on here talking busted beds.

I don't think we are talking the same kind of plastics as phone/computer gear. Maybe outdoor cable J boxes. Which the one in my yard is 25 now, attacked occasionally by my weed eater, and holding up fine in the Fl sun.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
    What a crappy thread title.

Several around here have done it just fine.

However, I personally think it's a waste. It's only a cosmetic issue. Put a tonneau on it and call it a day, use the bed as a bed.

If you want to leave it open and gussy it up, consider www.monstaliner.com. Talk to them about a DIY roller kit. Awesome stuff.

@Canufixit is very confused. The bed is fiberglass and plastic mixture. Drill it. Rub the shavings on your arms if you disagree.

    Have fun!

 Some would say he is a dummy for messing with skunks, however I wouldn't be one of them, I don't think the skunk smells bad:D...
Now the question is, wonder what kinda "foul action" has been going on under his gf's porch:spy:.

Maybe he could back that bad boy down a boat ramp, up to the cab and give'er a good rinsing tho.....
