Well....This afternoon sure didn't turn out like I planned....

Feeding the birds. 2 of 'em get into a battle royale'. One gets bit. When birds bleed, they don't clot on their own sometimes. So.....Avian vet just got some of my mod money. All good. Gotta get it to take birdy antibiotics for a couple days. Doesn't seem to be in pain. (Birds fluff their feathers up and keep 'em that way when they're hurting.)

Jeez.... Worse than having a house full of kids.

You can WASH your shoes!! These bitches were caked in mud and I thought they were done for even though they probably have less than 150 miles on them. Dipped them into a hot water bucket with some carpet cleaner and BAM they look brand new!!

 

At times she's actually jealous of them. She'd probably LIKE being included in the pack.

I've done that shit for years when they get bad! Take out the laces, tie em together, toss it all in the washer

 

Jeni, my Jenday Conure, and Nikki (Lady Catherine Nicole) our Papillon, sorta have a special sort of connection with me. Jeni was the first bird I ever took an interest in. More accurately, she took an interest in me....Birds are VERY loyal and dedicated to ONE person. (That being me) Nikki is obsessed with me. She sits and stares at me for hours on end. (Same thing with strangers when we go out in public....What's up with that?) Sandy says she's 3rd on the list after those two....

 

I wouldn't know what to do with a pet bird lol.

Ive always worn shoes until they become unpresentable or the soles wear out and toss them. That's why I really like leather, it's lasts forever.

These are my trail shoes. They got fucked because it's been so murky up here. I came home to my husband washing his nikes cause they got so fucked on the golf course and the soles are white again and everything so I decided to try it out.

I tried washing an all white pair a long time ago and they turned out yellow and looked like shit so I just thought it was something you don't do...

 

I raised a couple birds when I was a kid when they fell out of my parents tree. They didn't have feathers or anything. It was so rewarding. They know loyalty, would come to me when called, chill on my shoulders. One of the most rewarding experiences of my young life.

They're hella messy though, I had to clean their place literally every day. The most high maintanance pets I've ever had.

Yes, white shoes turn to trash real easy. I've only washed white shoes once or twice before I got sick of them, then throw em away. I don't own all white shoes anymore.

Cereal, though, you can wash shoes in the washer and dryer. Just don't dry completely so they won't shrink much.
I wouldn't advise putting in, say Sperry's, in the washer though.
