I trimmed them... still rubbed... took them all the way off... and I thought I solved it until I took a sharp turn up hill Do i have to trim the wheel well too?! Wtf! I wonder if I should've adjusted the coilovers higher lol

Depends on your tire size? You could do the CMC aka cab mount chop mod to fix the rubbing.

Yeah with 285 you might have to do the CMC mod. You can run a wheel spacer but you'll still rub the fenders when you hit a bump on road or off road.

You're gonna rub the cab mount with 285s, pretty much guaranteed. Maybe not sitting still in your driveway, but reversing at full lock, and the first time you hit a bump turning, youll hear that magical sound that makes you grit your teeth

I don't think I could of explained that any better myself. For the traditional 2-3" lift set up, 285's with or without spacers WILL need a chop!

Well I ordered the fox's over the bilsteins, 2.0's and i'm going to do remote resi's in the rear. Should be plenty for what I do which is mainly just logging roads. Wanted the progressive valving for slower speeds.

Started this thread 5 years ago....glad to see it still helps some newbies to the Tacoma world. It helped me tremendously when making my decision. This forum rocks! Just recently bought a '17 TRD Pro 4runner and I feel like im in a ghost town on t4r.org and 4runners.com. I will stay here instead.

One of the best posts I have ever read.

On page 33 now. I am driving the Grants Pass on Wednesday. Mike's Custom Toys is all lined out to fix my suspension. The people on this forum (and this thread) are extremely helpful. Maybe by page 58 I will know what I want. If not, Mike can help me out.

Well, I know a question not to ask. My 02 Taco is Impulse Red. So who makes the best Red shock. Don't want to pay King for a repaint.

Dare I say it...Sway away (SAW). I had them on my 04. They are a decent progressive coil and are somewhat weather resistant for a time. I originally wanted red coils for mine...but couldn't shy away from what was meant to be...KING! Besides you got to love that blue bling!

King really does sound like the way to go. Might be out of my price range though. I will find out tomorrow.
