Decided I should probably make a new member thread even though I've been on here for a while now and my Tacoma is now sitting almost exactly where I wanted it to be when I bought it. So here my story goes.

Bought the truck last year. Found it sitting in a field in the middle of nowhere with a for sale by owner tag in the window. Exactly what I've always wanted. A Speedway Blue dcsb TRD Sport. Thing was mint. Older gent that owned it told me he drive it to town on the weekends and that was about it. 2006 model at the time 10 years old with just over 100k on the clock. Didn't even try to get him to come off the price because he was 5k under book value on it already.

Purchased said rig and instantly removed the step bars and mud flaps but only got to own her about 23 hours when a lady pulled out in front of me which caused a fender bender on the front end. Talk about being crushed. Did I mention the truck was mint? Anyways, it all worked out in the end because I was able to put a 2012-15 TRD Pro front end on it instead of the 2006.

So, anyways the things that have followed is a set of 17x8.5 +0 FN Five Star in bronze wrapped in 285/70 BFG's
-New hubs via a nice lad on here.
-Brembo blanks w/ Hawk LTS pads
    -OME Dakar rear leaf pack
-OME 886 fronts w/ new top hats
-OME Nitrocharger's on all 4 corners
    -new OEM Center bearing
    -all 3 new Precision u-joints
    -ARE Z-series shell freshly painted
    -2015 TRD Pro front end
    -homemade camping platform
-debadged tailgate and tacoma door emblems
    -color matched tailgate handle

Big thanks to this site specifically and to FN wheels, Wheelers Off-road, RP Customs, the nice older Farmer for keeping his/my truck so nice and clean, the idiotic Illinoisian for so kindly volunteering to pay for my girls face-lift by trying to cross oncoming traffic blindly.

Hope you enjoy, It's been a ride so far and hopefully a long relationship.

PS, I included a pic of my first Yoda just for S&G's...and the feels. Also, you can follow my trips on Instagram @sirhcstallings

    I love it!
I got my SWB similarly, it belonged to an older gent, who only drove it into town and only put less than 50,000 on it the whole time. Got it for just a bit below Blue book value.

Truck looks great man. Heard those 886 coils are rough without a lot of weight up front (armor, winch, etc.)

Yeah, I was expecting the worst but it isn't too bad. It's the same specs as Icon and a few others. One of my future purchases will be the hidden winch and bumper combo which will hopefully help mellow it out a little. Definitely not as rigid as some of my lowered vehicles in the past.

Wasn't too bad. After the crash I needed all new parts anyways so I just looked up all the parts for a 2015 instead of mine. The only thing that is the same between the 2005 and 2012 is the fenders which I needed one anyways. The support brackets all changed as well.

The biggest shock was when we ordered the 500 dollar TRD Pro grill from Toyota (which is double the other grill) we got it in and realized it is just an insert... Not a complete grill... You have to buy the original grill first for like 280 and remove the center section then literally pop in the 500 dollar TRD (TOYOTA) grill.

I still have the 2006 fender liners which don't match up perfectly but made it to where I didn't have to trim a thing after the lift. Lol.

and then there were two...

I figured it was only a matter of time. not a fan of the pro grill myself, but it looks good tho! do you plan to do the mirrors or the interior as well?
anyway, welcome to the 12-15 swb club! just the two of us that I know of so far.

Do you by chance own the access cab with the 12-15 front end?
