stupid lift question

okay, so i am thinking about doing a simple spacer/AAL lift with diff drop for now... can i later add some coilovers to get more lift from the front, or will i have issues?

 

Yeah just do an aal and leveling kit or whatever then in the future add coilovers

 

good deal, thanks for the reply, i just wanted to make sure i wouldnt end up with geometry issues using both methods. i travel for work and the Taco is my travel vehicle right now, i figure when it get to around 300k, i will get another and make this my crawler with superduty tons, so i dont want to invest alot in the independent front stuff.

Yeah no you should be fine, you might look front heavy if you aren't towing anything

 

And a Diff Drop is not needed on the 2nd Gen Tacoma.

i miss that truck BAD! it was an 85, SR5, 22RE. i did a RUF with Trail gear high steer and an IFS box boomerang shackles, ranger rear leafs flipped backwards with an IFS rear, converted to rear disc, 5.29's with welded rear... 35" KM2's.

okay, so after researching all weekend... im starting to think about just getting the bilstein kit and being done with it, i dont want to end up with crappy results, what do yall think about this?

yeah, once i added the options, 2887 springs, strut assembly, no uca's, HSS aal and it came to $827.99

 

looks like a similar setup from Toytec was almost exactly the same... $828.99 and JKU3000 mentioned they do a discount from the web pricing...? might have to contact them.

 

not second guessing you, but can you explain this more to me... the wifes cousin did a 3" lift on his Taco and he said he did a diff drop, if its not needed, i would rather not fool with it.
