I got only stock TRD struts for the front - not sure if those bad boys will work with my 305 tires (34") tires?!

Why wouldn't they? if you cleared your tires correctly you wont have an issue because your tire should be able to clear throughout the entire suspension cycle

Are your bump stops set up properly? That's some good damage to the coil bucket.

Question: How does ADS compare, in price, with Kings, Icons, Fox and other "performance shocks"? Thanks .

Just throwing this out there....but you're bitching and complaining about how slow they are to get back to you yet, short of writing a physical letter, you picked the slowest form of communication to contact them with. Yeah, that's still kinda slow response, I agree. But if I have an urgent matter (or even semi urgent) I pick up the phone and call the business directly.

I too had an issue with my Icons and the customer service was top notch. Very responsive and they fixed and returned my shocks very quickly.

PS: Whatever you did to literally sheer off a grade 8 bolt must have been nothing short of amazing.

expensive shocks (coilovers) shouldn't have an issue amigo...You're missing the point! So I call them on Monday and they ask for pics - i then take off my coilover and see the top hat shatter to pieces - I guess I could've picked last week to bum a ride off friends...

I'm awaiting a response from Icon - called them and got a hold of a real person!!!!!!!!!! Hooray. They told me to send pics and they also said "this doesn't usually happen..." I asked if the top hats have been redesigned - NO, I also asked if the top hats were covered under a warranty - If it's been longer than a year - NO! - they may be able to make an exception they said...awaiting response!

It wouldn't surprise me if some sort of anomaly occurred with your coilovers, then again maybe not. But @ItalynStylion does have a little bit of a point. Until Icon can assess your coils whether that be through a photo/in-hand/phone, you can't really bash them just yet. I do agree that for these sort of coilovers, they should be able to handle better than this. I think it is good to see what they say and conclude before going further, even though it seems their customer service already gives the impression that they might be less than ideal to deal with.

No question about it though, it sucks and shouldn't of expected it to happen.

I have to admit, for the shearing of a top hat by the way yours did that would be bullshit if they didn't give some sort of warrantee. That to me says they really don't stand behind their product if that is the case. I don't think any expect to see something like this after a few years...or do they?

I had superbumps and I liked them, but since they are so squishy, it's hard to tell how to set them up. I doubt you bottomed out the shock with the bump spacer. I didn't have a spacer on mine. But I added a 3/4" spacer when I went to TC LCAs. Good luck with Icon. I know they were quick to send my friend a new shock when his shafts were rusting.

Same thing happened to me. Call them and they actually sent me one for free. Sucks that they haven't gotten back with you but some times it's easier to call.

I've had good and bad experiences with Icon - this one being the "bad" one...Last time I tried rebuilding my Icon coilovers i had shock emulsification - nitrogen leaking into the shock oil past the seal. I couldn't get the shock totally uncharged of nitrogen because there was still nitrogen in the shock oil. So unless I used a sketchy ratchet strap thingy...I couldn't get the dust seal completely off because it was still semi charged! I took my coilovers to Icon last year because of this and had them rebuild for me and install my 700# springs - GREAT experience - I wouldn't expect a top name shock company to have a failure like this but my experience is not unique. This has happened to many people with Icons. Shit, I'm just lucky my coil bucket was still intact.
