What are the rest of your angles?

 

Unchanged, so I didn't bother measuring them. According to the wise interwebs, the angle at the rear differential shouldn't be more than 3 degrees.

 

You have to measure pinion angle, and at least the two shaft angles to get your true u joint angles.

 

True, to get all angles. But this one can be measured against the housing of the third member. And since nothing else has changed it shouldn't matter what the angle on the transmission and the center support is.

Or am I missing something obvious here?

 

I guess I see the confusion. I zeroed it towards the third member and then measured the drive shaft.

Nothing made out of thin air.

 

To offset the two u joint angles from pinion to shaft, then shaft to center bearing, you'll need pinion angle, shaft 2 angle, and shaft 1 angle. While your at it, it doesn't hurt to just go ahead and get the trans angle as well. That way you have a complete format of what your drive line is doing. In order to eliminate vibration, you may need a combination of adjustments.

 

@Spansfelder @Texoma you guys should jointly create an engine lowering kit that drops the engine down in the engine bay to solve this issue. Obviously the easiest fix.

 

Lower engine = less clearance. I think the obvious fix is a mid-engine mounting solution.

Off topic, but have question, and hoped a local Austin TW could answer it. Just got 295s and had to chop some plastic. Has anyone done a cab mount chop?

 

I gotcha man, totally understandable...Doesnt change the fact you were still missed!

 

There is a TSB for drive line vibration. It replaces the rear trans mount with one that lowers the trans just a little bit.
