    Spencer,

Keep this in mind, you already have a completely working second generation Tacoma set up to your liking. You are simply making a switch to get rid of a loan. Don't you think that you would be much better off to just pay off your loan on your second generation with the money you are going to use to chase down a first generation.

First generations are great, but there is nothing wrong with second generations. First generations have this cult like following behind them, which is why they are so damn expensive. There is also not a whole lot of them to select from since the frame rust recall. You are going through a great deal of trouble to procure a first generation Tacoma, which is way more trouble than the reward.

    Good Luck,
    Paul

There is a reason there is a 1st gen cult and no 2nd gen cult ;)

    PROseur,

Don't get my comment wrong. I know the arguments as to why first generation junkies swear by first generations. Please keep in mind, I am also a first generation junkie.

The truth be told, though, second generations are nothing to put your nose up at. I am sure they are built well.

    Take it easy,
    Paul

Not saying 2nd gen aren't well built

The 4.0L in the second gen is the best motor for power in Tacoma's

But second gen are disgustingly ugly

    Proseur,

How attractive first generation and second generations is completely subjective. I do love the appearance of the first generations, but I, certainly, don't think that second generations are as unattractive as you think they are.

    Laughing hard,
    Paul

I haven't made a decision on anything yet. I'm also considering finding an older 2nd gen. I can get a 2nd gen with 130k-150k miles for about $14k. This is also appealing to me because i already have a shell, racks, suspension, bed platform/drawer, wheels/tires, etc etc. So i would just have to put my 2015 back to stock and sell it afterwards. Paying off my current truck doesn't really save me any money. I have like a 1.8% intrest rate so it is not beneficial to pay it off early. Whether i pay it now or over the course of the next 3 years it will practically be the same. I just foresee my wife needing a new vehicle before im done paying mine off so i want to dump my note and start paying myself a note to put a down payment on hers. I never ever want to have more than 1 note. (ideally not have any notes)

Im also looking at this second gen out in Houston.....

Look is not a concern. I like both. Im more concerned with practicality functionality and being debt free.
