Well this happened yesterday. Picked up a new rear end with 488 gears and an arb

 

good find.

 

I always treat my truck with 91, supercharged life styles

I need to watch the new episode of the grand tour.

 

Us poverty speccers do 91 for special occasions

 

I wish I wasn't poor....

Yea, wasn't going to do the regear and arb until summer but this popped up for a good deal so had to make it work.

Reputable shop (only 3k miles on it) and super clean, no rust or anything


Now onto buy gears for the front and arb compressor

 

If that includes everything you need to supercharge your truck that wouldn't be a bad deal.

 

good enough deal to swing a front arb? haha

I'd love to regear my double cab. no major need for it really but would be nice.

 

He says it does in the ad. I don't even know what all is needed.

Not really looking to do a front arb. Think it would get me into too much trouble

Power is okay at sea level but at elevation 7-9k it just feels like a slug with all the steel skids/bumpers/tires

It'll help a lot. more torquey for sure. Should be how stock felt just about.

eh. Yea, but it'll make the front diff stronger. Really the main reason to do an arb in our tiny diffs..

The rear arb an 4x4 should get me to 99% of the places I want to go.... hopefully

 

no doubt. Again, its not really a matter of getting you to more places. Its making the tiny front diff stronger is all. And if anything it'll be handy to get you OUT of places more then anything.

But hard to justify a $900 price tag for the sake of strength.

Better to drop the diff once though. Trust me.

 

Yea not really looking forward to dropping it. Think I'll get a pre assembled clam shell and just drop that in

Relatively simple to hook the compressor an locker up? (The third already has the fitting for it)

 

Yea it it easy. Compressor is just basic wiring and air line is simple enough.

was the easiest part of my install. im running CO2 for it though so was really easy.

 

You have to run a regulator set to 90psi?

 

yea. I use this kit and a paint ball gun bottle

That is super simple to do if I were to do a paintball co2 tank

Only concern would be if I were in a spot where I couldn't get the co2 filled back up or there was some kind of a leak on a trip
