So, I have a 2006 ACLB TRD Sport That I'm currently driving. I've done a few things to it to make it different then every other Silver Mica taco, but I have had a brainstorm and wanted to get your thoughts about it...

I used to drive an 87 Toyota Pickup...you know, the ones that had the beds that rusted off the frame...but I loved the thing. I finally sold it to a junk yard for $500 right after it turned over 485,000 miles. I think they still use it as a yard truck (with a flat bed now). At ay rate, I am thinking of doing some mods to my 2nd Gen to make it look like the old truck...well, at least with badges and such.

I've removed all the normal badges on the truck, and I'm thinking about putting some old school ones back on it... like the pictures below.

If it was done tastefully, would it look cool, or just dumb?4WD.jpg toyota-trucks-emblem-6.jpg

I was actually looking at the 4 wheel drive emblem but it wasn't in the budget at the time. I like it!

I am going to do a Satoshi grill mod on my 2ndGen. I'm shopping for emblems to attach to it, and I'm sure the 4WD badge above will be one. An old Toyota badge like the one pictured (instead of the Sombrero badge) would complete the look, I think. Or maybe just the old school lettering.

I just wish someone made a TEQ that would replace the Sombrero badge on the grille...

tossed an old Toyota emblem on mine a while ago (2011 based on the photo properties). can't see it anymore with the new light hoop, but it's still on the grill. I really liked it.

@colinb17 now that is what I'm talking about. That looks fantastic, and it's exactly what I had in mind. And here I am thinking I had an original idea.

    YAAAASSSSSS!

If I wasn't sure that I'd shred those off the first time I got onto a trail out here in AZ... I'd be all over that shit!
(I actually saw a black early 2nd gen access cab with those decals on it... and it looked awesome)

I did this to my tailgate to give it a bit of the "retro" look:

Note: the badge was custom made, just pay attention to the vinyl lettering.

I considered some of those smaller classic ones and mounting to one side, but they just didn't feel quite right to me.

This is what I did, the FJ nod to retro.

And why is Bob Odegard's F2G in your avatar?
