    2016 for mustang, rear gears were howling around 60+ mph car has 9k miles on it.

    my stock gears didn't really make any noise, but my buddies does on decel like it's a pinion bearing. lol

    285/75r16 KO2's, Baja XL 80's on CBI ditch brackets, TRD intake, opticoat pro, clear bra running the bottom sides, morimoto LEDs, all white LEDs inside, mounted shovel and axe above wheel well in the bed, linex'd the bed...
    Most guys getting a lot of noise from the nitro gears or are most relatively quiet? A lot of mixed reviews on this thread. I'm on the fence about pulling the trigger mostly related to noise.

    We have installed nitro gears before, not much noise outta em. All gears have the chance of making some noise and should be known to anyone doing gears.

    We install 8-10 ring&pinion sets a week here at our shop and pretty much only use 85-140 Lucas non-synthetic.

    I'd suggest staying away from synthetic gear oils, we see a lot of overheating failures with synthetics (especially Royal Purple).

    I've seen dozens of gear sets with oil related failures running RP.

    It just seems too thin to be gear oil. A lot of the guy here have tried it and said they started to see (hear/feel) problems right away.

    I'm pretty sure they might have some kind of warranty claims ! Doesn't royal purple have a guarantee if their product does not perform as it should they will replace your product.
