Yeah, yeah, but how bad ass would a big V8 be stuffed in the Tacoma be! The new Ford Raptor is going to be a beast and Toyota is going to have to step up their game to compete with that truck. Hopefully they will come up with a vehicle that will do just that.
Oh, and meet government regulations, laws and MPG reguirements :facepalm::crapstorm:

Really what I would love to see toyota do for the tacoma is develop a 4 liter V8. That would mean both a more high-revving and free-revving engine, more fun to drive, plenty of power for our trucks, and less weight than the big V8s. Also, it would mean better fuel efficiency, and would sound fucking awesome. IMO, small displacement V8 would be perfect for the Taco. 5.7 is too much, the front end of the truck would have all the weight, whereas a 4 liter v8's block would be small enough that it could be pushed back into the firewall to move some of the weight rearward. That, or just buy an LCE engineering race 22RE or 1GR... good for 4-500 hp out of a 'crate' motor, swap has been done before, all toyota components... if you guys really want more power then the options are out there, especially for those willing to drop 3-5K or more into it. If you guys ask, I'm sure LCE engineering could do a race motor swap on the 2016 tacos eventually. Just need willing guinea pigs ;)

I'd be in on a supercharger, any news? I tried searching but only came up with a lot of nothing. This was the closest one to promising.

I'll bookmark their site and check back periodically.

Does anyone have experience with running their superchargers on an older gen Tacoma or other vehicle? Are they reputable?

Not sure why y'all keep looking for updates here. The s/c's have been discontinued and in a practical world Toyota isn't going to give the green light for more. Nobody here has the inside scoop and unless a 3rd party like URD comes up with something there'll be an announcement.

Not sure why it takes 8 pages for people to realize that.

Those looking for more power than the sub van motor can provide will be better suited to just get a 4.6L Tundra.

You'll be waiting for the SC for a long time and when it comes out it'll be 6k plus install and void your warranty.

They kinda have spent a ton of cash, literally a metric ton of cash, on the 1UZFE. A beautifully developed engine too with forged internals and a top end near 8000 rpm with NA parts/upgrades, 6 bolt main, probably one of the strongest internals of any engine in the toyota lineup. It is a 10 year old block with another 13 years old behind that sure, but it would easily best the 4.0 v6 they have been using. Probably killed off due to emissions, but if there was a way to update it, Id rather see this stuffed into a tacoma vs rehashing these V6's. Unless toyota is going to do a force induction on the V6... then Id probably still take an NA 4.0 v8 as its working less for the power :).

Do you work for them? Where are you getting your info? Couple members here have contacted them before Sema and their rep told them they had something in the works.
