    Not bashing Icon but the split top hat is a flawed design. If you look at where it broke at the bolt hole thats a mighty tenuous piece of metal holding everything together. I'd be shocked if this is the only case of that breakage happening

    Yeah not sure about that - I've been talking to Madison (tech support) and emailing Bryan (sales) with pictures of my icons failing...Looks like it's up to those two to make the call. I'm already 99.9% on my way to pressing the trigger on a set of Kings - I don't want this to happen again!

    So you're bashing Icon!...I told Icon that over the phone (Madison - tech support) and she said that this doesn't happen. Wanna sell me your ADS? I got a sweet pair of custom Icon coilovers for ya ;)

    It's happened in the past. I was under the impression that they took care of this issue.

    Was this on a rear? The same thing happen to me, and 3 other people I know. And about a year apart. They did service at no charge and shipped back to me fast. But let's fix the issue Icon...

    OK UPDATE - just got off the phone with Icon - they are sending out a replacement top hat and misalignment spacer free of charge! Apparently there is no re-design on the top hat so they are sending the exact same one that broke! I'm stoked that Icon was able to take care of the situation free of charge and for others that have experienced this same issue...but seriously...why not change the top hat design if it's proven to fail numerous times? After this happened I'm not sure I can trust my Icons to not fail again. Thank you Icon but I will be going with King from now on.

    :ohsnap::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: hahaha, good one!!

    Good luck with the warranty OP, that's a bummer that happened. You don't have a stock strut assembly to throw in there to make it drive for now? Or a buddy maybe has a stock assembly?

    I have stock struts... just not sure they would be able to clear 34" tires for driving!?

    I think if you add a support like Eric did you will be fine, don't think you need to drop a bunch of dollhairs replacing everything

    My coilbucket is now weakened thanks to the icon failure. A crossbrace would strengthen the coilbucket to prevent any kind of flexing or bending. I like what Eric did but he doesn't have a weakened/compromised coil bucket like me.

    If I can break an icon coilover just doing my normal routine Offroad I'm sure that I could do it again and again with the same top hat design.
