Something did happen to my 15, the way things worked out best for me was to order a 2017 OR Manual.

No, kind of a long story but in short the Dealership damaged it and after a couple months of people looking at how best to fix it they just decided to offer to order me a new one at Invoice cost and give me max KBB Trade on my 15.

I still don't know how the damage occurred and they never did tell me the cause but it looks like someone hit it with a sledgehammer. After the bodyshop looked at it and the guy took a pic of my VIN Tag then I realized my title was going to show as accident damage and hurt me years down the road. I would have preferred to wait a couple years to buy a 3rd Gen so they could get the issues worked out but in this situation the best deal for my wallet was to just take them up on the offer of the new one.

Bought my 05 G35 in 06. It was my first MT car. Still have it. Love the control of power. Sometimes I wish the tacoma had MT but I enjoy the ease of the drive. G is boosted, the truck is the daily.

Honestly thought you were going to say you were going to buy a different brand of truck.

Actually my plan is to buy a 1991 Suburban 2500 in a year or two and keep the Tacoma. I specifically want a 1991 because not only was 1991 the last year for the "square body," but 1991 was also the only year for the heavy-duty 4-speed automatic transmission. All 2500 Suburbans 1990-older had either a 4-speed manual (technically 3-speed with granny low) or a 3-speed TH400 auto. The automatic transmissions in any 1500 Suburbans prior to 1993 model year were garbage.

Yeah, I've done my research, and loaded square body burbs are quite affordable. Thanks to companies like LMC Truck, it is also possible to build an old truck practically from scratch, which would come in handy if it got damaged.

A couple years ago, I saw a 1990 Chevy Suburban 2500 Silverado 2WD for sale on eBay. It had A/C and no other options, which was weird for a Silverado. Power locks were standard on all Suburbans with Silverado trim in 1990-1991, but this one had crank windows, no cruise, and no tilt. It also seemed to have an AM radio (easy to replaced). The best part about this Burb was that it had a 4-speed granny tranny and a 3.73 G80 locking rear. What sucks is you could only get the manual with the 350 and not the 454. In the 2500, the 350 was underpowered. I still would have bought that truck in a heartbeat though, if I had the money at the time...

Right on! That was an interesting read. Didn't know much about those classic Suburbans but would always admire them whenever i see them on the street.

    Yes it is possible.

    Make you one of these.

Plug the end into this connection to access the camera feed under the left side of the dash and then plug the RCA into the back of the HU in the camera input.

One of my favorite things about any older Suburban is that there is plenty of room to install an eardrum-shattering stereo and still have room for at least 5 of your friends and a few cases of beer!

agreed! i upgraded all my speakers, added an amp and sub to the factory system. Sounded terrible, and the bass was very "mushy". I now have a Kenwood DDX-9903S and all is great now
