I was at 18 psi in DV.
And yessir on the springs. I removed all the preload out of the passenger and just a couple threads of preload on driver to get rid of the taco lean. I honestly don't know how much lift I have. Problem when you buy vs build and don't have stock numbers to compare too. But lift/ride height is just a number. Tune your shit for performance, not aesthetics. The truck sets the ride height

Yeah, I kept measurements before and after cutting for 35s so I know how much lift I've got and where. I'll run out the collars and go from there.

My battery is relocated to the bed. So you might have some more weight up front than me. But literally zero preload on the passenger side. I'm happy with my ride height and up/down travel.

    Some post-new-spring pack un-shackle-flip facts.

With my old setup (Dakar and shackle flip with xj shackles) I did some driveshaft measurements and I would have needed a 4* shim on my leaf pack to get the driveline angles in check. For the time being while I had the flip, I had a 1" carrier bearing drop to get 2 of the 3 u-joints in check, but that big of a drop was fucking with the u-joint off the x-fer case flange. So I always had driveshaft vibes.
With the new spring pack and back to stock geometry hangers and shackles and no diff drop, I was only 1.3* off. Generally speaking you want the u-joints less than 1* off, otherwise you will end up with driveline vibrations at some speeds/loads.
I'm super anal retentive and hate driveline vibrations so I went to work with the angle finder. With three stacked washers under the CB I was able to get the angles to 0.1* difference.

Another question I remembered I wanted to ask you....

During that test drive you took me on and you drove through that wash and the rear end bucked/catapulted....was that solely due to the shackle flip? Or would that have happened even with an inverted shackle?

That was a hard buck. The inverted setup probably made it more harsh. I don't really have any good dirt miles with the new setup yet to compare though.

Does the same damn thing every lifted second gen owner since 2005 has figured out and...IMG_0316.PNG.jpg

P.S. If that was an HF digital angle finder it's only accurate to +\- 10 degrees ...

It's an AccuRemote and good to +/- 0.2 degrees fuck you very much.

And believe it or not, there are tons of uneducated people with flips. I'm just trying to bring actual facts, numbers, measurements, and logic to clarity. Don't like it? Eat a dick and unsub.

Logic? Fine. This is the 2nd gen area, and not the 3rd gen area. Logic is accepted.

    Ok ok.
So out of curiosity, what are your u-joint angles on the second and third u-joints (the one after the CB and the one on the pinion flange)?

I will check this week. I saw your post earlier on that and it has me curious but I haven't checked it yet. Honestly the only driveline vibe I have ever felt is when I floor it from a stop. I have always caulked that up to a little axle wrap from a standing start. But nothing at all through the power band like most feel.

You bet. But you have a first gen which has a double cardan CV joint on the driveshaft. Doesn't work quite the same way.
