Thank you for the advise. I need all I can get. I'm a little worried about check engine lights coming on and stuff like that. I gave myself the nickname "Johnny 2 times" cause, well, I always end up having to do things twice before I get it right. SMH.

You are right, It is the adapter. Obviously I don't know what i'm talking about. I apologize. Is that something that would help? I have a 2014. Looks like they offer a 70mm and a 76mm.

Unplug neg battery cable 1st.... then install the intake.
Reconect cable, start truck (95% chance it will start and then die, totally normal). Restart..... id say drive for a day and u shouldnt see a single check engine light if install was correct. If you do get a check engine light you know EXACTLY what it should have originated from. Then troubleshoot.

Next day or few days later do the maf calibrator.... again disconnect neg cable first. After install if any check engine lights come on, well the only new variable is the calibrator.

Doing both at same time can be a pita to troubleshoot if u get a cel. But its your truck and time. Installing the maf calibrator 1st may not be a good idea if gadget pre installed map for the afe intake. Thats why i gave steps in that order.... again, ur truck, ur time.... ur call.

As for the larger throttle body, im not sure how much if any gains are had on a basically stock truck.

Dont forget if u get the adapter u still have to source the larger tb, and i hear they can be pricey depending on condition, source, and well if the seller knows what its worth

That's great advise! The part about it stalling...why has nobody mentioned that?? That's huge! I would have freaked the hell out! I did download the instructions ( thanks for the link) I'll probably read them 100 times before the install. Or maybe I'll just come to your house! What kind of beer do you drink? You like BBQ hot wings?!

Think I'll skip the larger throttle body.

No prob.... it may or may not stall.
Ive flipped between a few intakes and never had a light pop on.....

    Stock
    Afe
    Urd
    Stock again for blower install
    Afe again
    Urd again
    K&n (to test temps)
    Back to afe

No joke, takes less than 30min if u done em a few times... i wanna say close to 20 even.

If your near the central coast im happy to help.

Might be worth the drive. I'm in Ventura. Always down to hang out and learn some stuff.
