What is wrong with the Supply Chain at TOYOTA?

Welcome to ordering a vehicle. This is not Toyota's issue, it's the dealerships issue. You are complaining about the wrong company. They have to transport the dealer trade and it costs X amount of money, so they often wait for multiple units to move.

If you aren't patient, buy on the lot. Otherwise we look forward to your future rants about the truck once you get it.

 

It in NO WAY is the dealers fault -- They have no control over when the deliveries get made.
BTW the truck came in this morning. I will close the deal tomorrow morning after a test drive -- I checked out the paint job this afternoon in good light. I went it over it twice -- saw a very nice quality of painting.

 

There was nothing to be added -- The only option I ordered was the tow package, that my friend, is a factory built in option.

 

This is a possibility -- I will ask a lot of questions to this end.

 

It took right at 8 weeks to get it -- it WAS NOT a dealer trade. like I said -- the truck sat in Kansas City for almost 2 weeks. The dealer showed me the status of it 2 weeks ago!

And the entitlement, first world problem threads continue.

 

I voluntarily waited a week to get it even after it arrived at the dealer Lol...

 

I was patient -- but after it sat in KC for two weeks (150 miles away) after it got railed there -- is a stupid issue -- shows that Toyota puts absolutely NO priority on their sold orders. The dealer got several Tacomas in the same 2 week period that were stock --(unsold) (this is a fact)

 

After that amount of time, you probably forgot you had a truck on order!

 

I guess you're not aware of how Toyota handles sending vehicles to the dealership. Each dealer is allocated a certain amount of each model each month. I had to wait two months for my allocation...just because Toyota didn't give the dealer any more inventory. Those trucks that arrived before yours were probably built a month or two ago

 

Once again -NOT A DEALER TRADE!

 

once --again -- they (Toyota) needs to put priority shipping on SOLD ORDERS. I had our unbuilt Subaru Outback in 4 weeks.

 

I will check it out with a pre-sale test drive tomorrow morn --then go on from there

 

I think they just hate you...and you alone.

 

If mine stays on schedule it should arrive at my Dealer 4 months from when l ordered.

I see that your truck has arrived and that is great, however, I just want you to realize that this waiting is not Toyotas fault. There are things that need to happen when the vehicle arrives at port and before it can be shipped to a dealer. The several trucks your dealer got in stock during that 2 week period were most likely sitting at the same port 2 weeks before your truck was. There is paperwork, shipping schedules, inspections, etc. that take place.
So, with your attitude right now you are going to have a bad life if something goes wrong and your truck needs to be in the shop for a few days.
You are not priority and just because you want it now, does not mean proper processes can be skipped.
