@allpro would you guys consider fabricating a swingout for the 1st Gen Rear Bumper...or is it even a possibility? Thanks in advance

    Reserected from the dead.
I've built swing out bumpers for other trucks. Our trucks have very weak bumper hangers and frame ends.

Hanging a swing out tire carrier and tube bumper would take quite a bit of frame strengthening. I know its done and there are pictures all over, but those trucks had the frame ends beefed up. The cost of the swing out bumper/tire carrier would only be part of the cost.

Idk. The way the mounts are for the softopper directly clash with a large portion of the mount for the tiregate.

You can see the 2 plastic arms near the end of the bed. there is a rod in the bottom of the window that fits in the "C" notch.
Ive tried to think of a way to modify it...but I think i'll just put my tailgate back on and sell the wilco.

    now i see it

    thanks

this is probably why the wilco tow hitch ones are the best as they don't interfere with anything

The tire is low enough. But i'd also have to modify the spinner dealie thing and cut off the 2 bars.
