    I have a 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD and it's time for a brake job.

    I'm looking for some guidance on an aftermarket brake setup. I'm not looking for anything drastic, but definitely considering...
    • Slotted rotors
    • Steal breaded lines
    • Pads
    I'm trying to stay under $1,000 budget.

    This is my first post in this forum, so thanks in advance.

    Where you located? Goodridge has a good set of brake lines. Rock auto has stop tech rotor and pad kits. Total parts cost is around $300.

    I got ebc slotted and drilled rotors and green stuff pads for 267 shipped. Ive heard good things about stoptech too. Idk anything about steel lines

    Thanks for the responses. My truck is not lifted and do not plan to do so anytime soon.

    So it sounds like the options are...
    1. Stoptech Z23 Rotors, Pads & Lines
    2. EBC Rotors
    3. Green stuff pads
    4. Goodridge lines
    Also any input on new calipers?

    I don't see why you would need new calipers unless you just want to buy a powder coated set.

    If/when I ever need new rotors and calipers I'll buy 4Runner Sport parts. I couldn't imagine NOT doing that.

    I went with the EBC stage 5 kit. Drilled slotted rotors and yellow stuff pads I think it was $350 free ship on JC Whitney.

    Also installed the goodridge steel lines.

    Very happy with the new brakes. After the break in period and following the pad bedding in procedure they really stop good now. Much better than stocks. They don't seem to get the "squish" I had seen before. They are dusty though.

    I did notice a shake in my steering after I installed them. I had wheels rebalanced and it didn't fix it. I called EBC and they sent me a whole new kit right away. They were awesome. The rep said that sometimes a rotor will come unbalanced from the factory by a manufacture defect. But they made good on their parts.

    Ebc stage 5 isnt quite what i would call "drilled" as this can mislead others who dont know, into thinking they are "cross drilled"
    The stage 5 are dimpled and slotted.
