Between magnuson and bd they are both full of shit. I spoke to them today to and they told me that the tunes they provide are from magnuson and magnuson gets them directly from trd. Since trd doesn't support going back to stock we can't go back to stock NA. However they can give us a tune for the smaller pulley?? Yeah ok bro.

First call was asking the bd tech how the bd actually gets the tunes and he told me it does it through the update agent after you select the tunes and go back to the pc etc etc. what he told me makes sense.

Then later in the day I asked about the updated sc file for the fj, my ecu cal id ends in 200 and there's an updated one that ends in 400 according to trd. After some talking they gave me the file for the 400 which kind of contradicted what the first tech guy told me.. so I played with it tonight and sure enough it still at 200 and runs the same like shit. wasted 1 hour more of my life on this thing.

I'm done here guys just thought I would share what I was told. patiently waiting for my ucon to arrive.

For those of us for whom who the Bully Dog tune did not work, its a waste of time trying to do anything further with the Bully Dog to try to get the truck running right.

The easiest thing to do is get another unmolested ECU w/ the TRD tune or use a different tuning solution such as UCON, MAP ECU3 etc.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
After such a large purchase and so many complaints concentrated on one forum why is BD or Magnusson not stepping in? They could learn a lot from this situation. There is a lot of data here. They already have a reputation of disappointment. If I was running the BD I'd put more effort into getting them to acknowledge all these issues. The product is obviously not performing as advertised/ expected. $500 for a paper weight could have gone towards another solution.

    I know it's a LONG shot...

Anyone here buy one of these S/C's and changed your mind about using it? I'm in the market.

Might as well buy it from URD at that price. $4930 with free shipping. If I bought the other guys it'd cost more after shipping.

She took a while to respond to my email as well. But when she did reply it was on a Friday at about 8pm which I thought was odd.

Alright...looked around at every auto parts near me and no one has a crankshaft pulley holder available to rent or loan. Don't want to buy a tool that I'll only use one time. If anyone has one I can use or even a homemade tool I'll pay for shipping both ways.

Are you talking about breaking the crankshaft bolt loose? The crank pulley is keyed IIRC, and the nut just holds it on at like 180 ft/lbs.

Yea for breaking the bolt loose and then retorqing it. Last resort will be to use a chain but would like to prevent shortcut maintenance if I can.

Magnuson supercharger, 2.6 quick change pulley, 76mm throttle body, Doug thorley long tubes, urd y pipe, wot box with 2 step, 170 thermostat, airaid intake, urd short throw, djm 3/4
Use a chain wrench. Use an old piece of serp belt right here the chrome part touches the pulley to protect the pulley and ull be good to go. That's what I used. Had no problem. Says they are at Home Depot for $20
