I completely agree. I'm fine giving up some of the new technology to get an MT. I like my vehicles pretty simple with just the few features that I really use everyday. My wife has keyless start and entry and I do the same thing as you. I still like having that key in my hand and in the ignition. I think crawl control and MTS are cool features, but I honestly would rarely use them and I'd still prefer stick over those features.

I don't really understand the allure of push button start or keyless entry. It would be nice to not fumble with keys BUT I can't stand to sit down with keys in my pockets... ouch!

It's just the fob with the key folded inside so no jabbing :)

ATRAC has saved my ass soooooooo many times. It would be really hard to give it up for anything.

I prefer a manual gearbox for every day driving. I find it engaging, I'm more alert, focused and feel safer. I'm always in the correct gear which is a huge benefit in a mountainous region.

I'd rather have A-TRAC than crawl control. It is traction control for your front wheels when you're in 4wd utilizing braking to a wheel that is slipping so that power can transfer to the other side.

But....that's what crawl control is doing too, just modulating speed as well as traction.

So I have never really been off roading in a manual, so I could say I'm a novice. Will it be easy for me to catch on or should I not even consider manual if I wanna go have fun?

They say the clutch cancel can be used as a crawl control, to me I shift way more than I would ever use the crawl control.

I will say, 4 lo w/atrac is amazing. Got to experiment with all sorts of terrain and the different settings the truck has to offer when I went to Moab for a couple of weeks a few months ago.IMG_20161219_172124.jpg

im a manual guy who ended up buying an auto, long story short i miss driving a manual and somedays i wish i had gotten one ,,,, but today i drove my friends manual tacoma and realized how much i like the auto trans in my truck. its a big truck and always driving through the gears can get old. especially if u have an injury or bad back or something .. so i guess what im saying is they both have positives and negatives. im kinda glad i have my auto trans now and dont regret ...

    Here she is, gentlemen!

And that 3.5L in front of a MT is one hell of a combination, if I do say so myself!

A bit late to the party but I absolutely love my 6MT Tacoma! Up there in Canada you can get the ACLB OR in 6MT so that's exactly what I've got.

Average about 17.5mpg but doesn't bother me. tow a boat and snowmobiles around, done up to 3,400lbs without any issue. As others have mention she really starts to go after about 3500rpm.
