@anotherbowl let us know if there installers look like this! IMG_1470.jpgIMG_1472.jpg
Would be worth the trip imo !
But seriously doubt you'll walk out with spending 1500$ and have it sound like the 450Q that you can install diy in 4 hours !
Not to mention Oem audio + systems are tuned specifically to your cab ! The Dsp tuned amp is a masterpiece! As OP stated they can tune it to your head unit.

LOL to bad the installers do not look like that. But I heard a package that costs $700 ish and another that was $1,600ish.

The $700 package was actually very impressive. I am pretty sure I am going to get the $1,400 setup and have them install it for me. I have never been much of a “bass” person, but I was literally blown away by the bass in the Tacoma. It was not just “thumpy” but very very deep rich and at first was way to much bass. But then showed me the bass knob that allowed me to control the exact amount of bass that I wanted. We took the truck for a drive down Wurzbach Pkwy. At 70 MPH, windows down, I could hear the music clear as day. The bass was half way up and I could still feel my seat vibrating like a massage chair. The tonal quality and clarity left me thinking that I spent way to much on my home theater setup. The amps are all plug and play and do not require any modifications to my truck. I even picked up a steering wheel control while there and they have a video on how to install it. They also have tweeter and speaker harnesses that no other companies have. So the entire setup is completely plug and play. They showed me every component.

Thanks for the feedback, but after reading about the lackluster bass from the OEM, I am pretty much sold. We listened to my music from Pandora and Spotify. The quality was nearly as good as a Metallica CD they demoed.

I am just trying to decide if matting the truck is worth it.

The oemaudio+ bass is definitely not lackluster... it is more than enough. The people who are saying the bass isn't over the top are saying that in comparison to typical systems with two 12" subs you can hear from two blocks away ratting the trunk. This is not that at all, but definitely has enough bass to sound very very good.

    +1.
I don't have any sound deadening and as the speakers break in the sound and frequency response gets better and better. I'm exceptionally happy. Easiest stereo upgrade I've ever done and quite honestly. Probably the best sounding

Not really into crazy amounts of bass. BUT the bass from the system was really nice. The clarity of the system at very high volume with the windows down sold me. Scheduled my install for 2 weeks from now, they are booked for months out. Can’t wait for spring drives with windows down! Feel like a teenager again, just wish I could get it done sooner!

I have been researching the ********* route, OEM Audio +, and piecing a system together and am leaning towards the OEM Audio + for simplicity/plug and play. I have not heard the system yet but I'm skeptical about the 8" sub. I've had a 10" Bazooka tube @250W for the last 16 yrs in my First gen and love the punch and warmth from it. I've never had an 8 but am more than skeptical.

My wish-list, OEM Audio+ to add a 10" option with at least 250W. Probably would need to locate it in the Passenger cubby or could remove the drivers cubby like the Taco Tunes and other options. Maybe possible to move the Sub amp out of the enclosure and locate it also under the seat to allow for more enclosure volume. I do use the passenger cubby more as it's larger...fits laptop easier to hide stuff.

So I got a call from OEM Audio. They do offer the system with an RCA out setup for using another bass setup. It also lowers the price. Ordering mine within the next few weeks. Definitely impressed not only be what I've heard but also the call back. These guys are passionate about sound, I can say that much.

Yep, this system is definitely worth it!

@anotherbowl, OEM Audio does tune for aftermarket stereos. If you let them know the model and type before purchasing they can tune it to that head unit. I know you already decided to go with ********* and from what I've read, they have great systems too. Just wanted to mention that in case anybody else was wondering.

@Oldman808, I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that the clazzio seat covers actually improve the sound. Coincidentally, I already have them on order and they should be arriving later this month!

@flynnr, the volume is pretty loud! I usually leave mine between 8-12. Whereas with the stock system I was listening to it between 20-30. Personally, I like it. However, if you stream from a phone you can adjust the volume there too for more levels of audio control. I had to do that with phone calls as those really were too loud, especially if it's an HD call.

@Howse, thanks for starting this thread. I agree the sound of this system is great as it is, and at the same time I really would like to hear what it would sound like with another sub on the passenger side. I like having the extra space there for storage. However, if they do decide to add another 10" or 12", I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up! As for that rattle in the sub, I found mine was coming from the latch that locks the rear seat in place. Mine went away as soon as I pulled on the release strap. I ended up wrapping the bar that locks into the latch with some electrical tape and I push the seat back into place just enough for the it to be secured, but not locked all the way. I believe this is because there is pressure on the hinges in the latch, and that pressure goes away when it locks all the way on the bar. When the seat back is completely secured, the metal on the hinge vibrates against the back of the bar.

Also, there is a rattle outside the truck behind the sub coming from the vent. I only notice it when I turn up the volume on a song with heavy thumping bass and I'm standing outside the vehicle. Not too bad though, as I don't even notice it inside. However, my system is still relatively new at only a couple weeks with light use. I'm wondering if lining the rear behind the sub with Dynamat will alleviate this, and how much you would need if so. Curious to hear what the results are from anybody that does it!

I'm getting ready to pull the plug on this system. I've read a couple of other posts in other areas where 2 people reported their backup camera would not work and the phone would not work thru the speakers. Anyone else have this problem?

Has anyone with an Access Cab installed these speakers yet? I'm curious about the 8" sub that fits between the jumper seats.

I'm having sporadic Bluetooth connection with the factory head unit. Not enough to complain but I have noticed.
Also threw in a small amp that powered new front speakers and tweeters and the audio is now just bearable. Lol
