    Hi everybody, greetings from Spain!

My ride is a '94 4Runner 3.0 TD (1KZT engine ) and despite not having a Tacoma I check the forum every now and then.

I'd like to ask you about the Aisin lockers I got which don't fit my truck and now I'm almost 100% sure came from a Taco.

I got them from a junkyard here in Spain. The guy wasn't sure in what Toyota were mounted, but since they are 26 splines and my truck was the only Toyota 26 splines sold in my country (yep, we don't have Tacos, not even 3rd gen 4runners) I thought it was the perfect match for my 2nd gen 4runner.

I took them home, cleaned and painted them (the dial was originally grey) and then I realized they don't fit my hub

I would appreciate if you guys could tell me if they are from a Tacoma or not, so I will be able to sell them (probably to the US) and buy the right ones for my truck.

    Thanks a lot

Look like the same ones that are on my truck. I'll check the spline count and get back to you. If you wanna sell them I'm interested

If the hub dials were gray, that's another indication they came off of a Tacoma.

Yip tacoma hubs arent interchangeable with the pick up style hubs. And as mentioned above, if they havent been painted(which you did with these) the red ones will not fit tacomas and the gray ones wont fit pick ups and of course this corresponds with the proper generation of 4runners! Thus your fitment issues with your 94 2nd gen runner...

So red dial hubs are for pick ups which died in 95...
Grey dial hubs are for tacomas and 3rd gen runners.

The first tacos came of the line in 95 as well but are considered 95.5 year models. Both the taco and the pick up were made in 95, toyota was just using up the last of what they had of their pick up parts thus both trucks being made in the same year...

Boy you sure cleaned them up nice and did a great job on painting them red while keeping the lettering and arrows white!! Things look damn near new outta the box my man!

Bummer you can't use them, but yeah man, with the red dial it's a perfect shout out to the Yota's roots!

    Hola Vamtec,

Como Estas? Lo siento mi Espanol es muy malo. The hubs you bought will work on first generation Tacomas so I am sure if you advertise them on a site like this one, they will sell. A lot of members here prefer manual locking hubs to the auto locking system.

    Your English is very good.

    Thank you guys.
I spent some hours "restoring" these Aisin. It was quite amusing..
Imagine my face when i tried to install them and they didn't fit, specially after months of searching everywhere :annoyed:

I could take more pics and measure it to be sure they are like the ones you got.

In this thread is a pic of 2 different Aisin for Tacoma. The one that looks like mine apparently is from a preTacoma, totally interchangeable with Tacoma.
