I'd assume December sometime, since that's when they started toying with it

I hope the thermoplastic stuff you are using now works alot better for you than the the powder coating did very disappointed in how my sliders look after one winter with your powder coating on them

That's intersting...what's going on with it? I had mine coated locally (Armor Coatings) and when I washed the truck last week for the first time all winter, they still looked good as new.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Just like I told you in the email you sent yesterday it's salt damage and highly neglected that didn't happen over night proper care is needed to protect from salt even sitting over night can cause damage to the powder. Once under the coating it spreads like wild fire is not addressed.

I have may other powder coated items on my truck as well that have been on there for years and do not look anything like this. reading some of the other peoples posts that have had them coated other places are not having any problems.
so your saying every time I drive it on a road that might have salt on it I have to wash the sliders on my truck?

Is what I'm saying is salt got under the coating and started to cause it to rust. Some companies use ultra high build epoxy coatings if rust forms it just stays under the coating and you don't see it until it's too late and your parts are rusted beyond repair. One of the reasons powder coating is not used too often in aviation more so on jets at sea they want to address the issue before it gets too bad.

We selected that powder for ease of touch up with a rattle can as our sliders are built to be used as they all should be. So touching them up should be quite often. We just switched to a thermoplastic coating that is extreamly durable because customers are not ising the sliders as intended IE wheeling thier trucks to justify touching up sliders and just letting them rot when the powder starts to fail.

This is a slider on my brothers truck that's over 4 years old never been touched up coated with the same powder as yours that has never seen a salty road.

This is the salt water aquarium stand in our office a little salt was spilled on it during a water change and didn't get cleaned for a week and this is the result.
Salt is a killer for Thermoset powders. This is a epoxy clear if it were black you would not see how it's spreading under the coating it would look just fine.

so from what I get form what you said above is you acknowledged there is a rust problem with the old product you where using because everyone had to do excessive maintenance to keep the rust off because they where not always damaging and repainting them,(to keep the rust problem under control) and you went to a product that will hold up better to help out your customers who do not always hit there rockers... you should have put a disclaimer on your web site saying powder coating will not hold up anywhere that salt is used used on the road.

It's powder coating, not a wrap. Would it be nice if it lasted forever? Sure, but salt kills. Guessing you've never looked at a car from a coastal state to see what a winter and/or constant sea breeze will do to a car, let alone sliders.

You can twist my words however you like but you have a neglect problem there is no way you didn't see that rust starting to form. if you would of addressed it months ago with fluid film or another spray they would not look like that.

I'll tell you what Troy send them back I'll re-powder coat them with the Thermoplastic powder that will last longer but if you neglect them you will be in the same boat down the road.
