Hi all. I've been lurking for a while now and finally have my truck in possession and felt it was time to post. I came here researching truck gens, options, warranties, and mods. This site has been incredibly helpful and I hope to give back.

*blah blah words warning, scroll past to see pics*

I came to Toyota for two reasons. The first reason was to find a vehicle that could combine my current car (2004 BMW 330ci) with a 1969 Ford that I inherited when my grandfather passed away (back in 1999 while I was in the Air Force). The second reason was a sort of 1/4 life crisis. Being bored with work, social life, annoying politics, etc. I really felt the need to disconnect from the bullshit. 90% of the reason I bought this truck was to get outside and unplug from the bullshit. I grew up in the country on 10 acres and this city life with all it's liberal propaganda is starting to get the best of me. Our society is getting dumberer every day and this truck is going to be my outlet.

Anyway, on to the truck. Since I was used to the options and luxury of my BMW, I really wanted to maintain the comfortable options of the car. But since I'm pretty handy around my house and definitely wanted to put the truck to work outdoors, I needed 4 doors, 4wd, and a bed. I shopped around and found a 2014 Limited. Between the dealership being incompetent and my bank taking their sweet ass time to cut the loan, they sold the truck out from under me. Which was fine in the end because I found a 2016 in blazing blue for just a few thousand more. I found a helluva deal out of Illinois (I live in Seattle) and even with shipping, the truck was still several thousand dollars cheaper than buying here in Seattle. The hardest part was even finding a blue limited on the market. By buying out of state and shipping to the west coast, I'll save about $5,000-$6,000 over buying here in Seattle. Out the door from the dealership I paid $33,279. Shipping was an extra $1400. But still, the cheapest Tacoma here was more than $38,000 and that's before paying Washington tax. Since I own a home in Oregon, I just registered there and saved 9.8%.

Anyway, assuming this is going to be a 5 year keeper, I'll use this a build thread and update accordingly.

    Oh yeah, the pictures.

Coming off the shipping truck. Tacoma and Ford F350 Diesel. Guess which one didn't start and had to be pushed off the truck. (pssst...not the Taco)

It snows in Seattle about once every 4-5 years. She got 8 inches *snicker* the weekend the truck was delivered. So of course I had to play.

And for those wondering about the two vehicles this truck combines, here's the BMW and 1969 Ford. The BMW is getting sold ASAP. The truck has 73,000 miles and my grandfather was the second owner. It's a money pit that I don't drive so I'm on the fence about selling it. If it was in better shape, I'd be more inclined to keeping it. But it needs a full paint restoration. Also, it's only RWD. It's great for cruising, but 8-12mpg on 200-ish hp is pretty worthless. lol

Congrats! I'd say you got an awesome deal on that truck. I've seen them upwards of $40,000, hell my OR was listed at $36k and change. Great choice of colors too! Enjoy it.

nice new ride, and great deal. I am not a ford fan, but I must admit I am partial to those old trucks, might be worth keeping as a project.
